  1. Gosh, make me feel bad. I have 3 RF-7s 2 RF-3IIs and 2 RS3-IIs in a 11 by 12 foot room. I may be a foot off here, but I also have my bed and a night stand in there to. But it does help that I have shelvs from my walls and a small 14 inch screen which I am thinking of changing out. But I do plan on having a larger room in the future, so thats why I didn't mind buying all this. Anyway, it sounds great to me. CD
  2. Just to let you all know, someone told me that the Parasound stuff is actually under rated. The A23 has been tested at 170 watts per channel and the A51 is rated at over 300 each. Just what I heard, not sure if its true. CD
  3. I remember a few years ago at night I would start up the CD, turn off the light and listen to my music. I liked looking at all the lights my system made. My parents just found it strange for me to listen to music in the dark. I to did notice it sounded better, but couldn't figure out why. Glad I am not the only one who did and thought this,I don't feel strange about it anymore. CD
  4. I for one have personally tested and tried out to see what would happen with speaker distance. I used a cd that has frequency test on it and an SPL meter. Because it was on the computer and had one woofer and 2 sats, I tested this in the upper frequecies, but I belive it would work on lower ones as well. I placed the 2 sats to gether. Played just one and used my SPL meter. This test was along time ago, but I'll use 80 dB as an example. I turned the other one on and it was 86 dB. This was tested in at least 4 postions. I kept testing until the dB differnce changed. So at roughly 2 feet is about when it started to drop. Of course mileage may very with the distance but I kept testing it incase the SPL meter made errors and it was consistant. But from useing the WINISD, powering 2 woofers from the same amp next to each other will give you 3 DB. If you had 2 seperate amps powering each, its 6 dB. Hope this helps. CD
  5. Hey Cool to see you here Brent. Its me Dan from Delaware. Sadly my plans had to change but I am hoping to do something soon with the lower Parasound stuff. Mainly just looking at 2 channel stuff for a friend. I may just do something big next year as I may be getting a raise next summer(I hope) If the prices are low enough, I would be willing to buy sometime next month. Hope to talk to you later. CD
  6. My suggestion would be get the F3s. Because you listen to music most of the time and most music is 2 channel, you would want your mains to be the best you can afford. Next I would suggest the C3 because most of the information in movies goes to the center channal. Then your surrounds. You may skimp here a bit but the higher you go, the better. Not to knock your sub, but I suggest either and Klipsch RW, HSU, or SVS sub and you can do that either after you center or your surrounds. The RW-10 can be had for under 500, HSU makes a few 300-600 doller ones and SVS just came out with a nice 10 inch 400 doller one, soon to change to 430 next month(november 1st). CD
  7. I think 550 is a good deal on an RSW-10. If I had my choice between the RSW-10 and the RW-12, I would pick the RSW-10 for many reasons. No port noise, better amp, sub, cabinet and sounds better. The RW-12 goes a little bit louder but not much. FYI, I can get an RSW-10 for $750 compared to the $1100 MRSP. I hope you enjoy it and good luck. CD
  8. Mileage does very from room to room and system to system, but I had my RSW-15 in my front right corner and did a frequecy test. I didn't like it so I talked to forum members and I moved it up about a foot and got a smoother frequacy response. So I may suggest about a foot away from the corner but you can keep it parrellel with the wall about 6-10 inches away. Again mileage varies. You could get an RSW-15 if you don't mind buying a transformer. Annoying I know as I use to live in Germany. A good one may weight in at about 40 lbs. Just a thought. I hope this helps. CD
  9. Heck, want more seperetes? I saw an amp that had the power supply in its own box. Don't remember were I saw it or who makes it, but I thought it was nuts. It got me thinking, ok, how do you seperate that more? My idea, One box with all your transformers, one with all your caps, and one with all your amps. And to break that down more, mono block amps. For 5.1 and Passlabs, that would be 10 peices just for the pre-amp and amp section. I bet others have broken it down more, but I think it comes to it a point where it just seems overkill. CD
  10. which setup do I prefer? SETUP4 3(RF-7),2(RF-3II),2(RS-3II),1(RSW15) But in your shoes, I would get SETUP1 I like direct speakers as surrounds althought the RS series is ok. The RB series IMHO is better bang for your buck then the RSX series. Not to knock your setup, but I would suggest an RW-12 if you plan to really crank it, if not, then the 10 is ok. I honestly prefer the RF-25 over the RF-35 because I think the 35s are a little boomy compared to the 25. If you watch alot of movies(more then 75% of the time) I would suggest the RC-35 as the center because it is the most important speaker in a theater set up but I do think that either center should be fine. Looks like a nice setup. Good Luck in your serch CD CD
  11. Sounds like a decent deal to me. The RW-10 would sound better and louder then any Pro-media woofer. I would think it would play lower as well. The RW-12 is louder then the RSW-10 but the RSW-10 sounds better because its a higher class. I heard the RW-12 with RF-7s and they will keep up, well for the most part but would recommend something higher for RF-7. The RF-15 would make make a large improvement as well and the RW-10 and RW-12 would be fine with it I think. I think the 12 would be better for many reasons. Its louder, goes lower, and if your upgrade your mains, chances are, you won't have to upgrade your sub. My 2 cents of advice, buy what you want now, or you'll end up saveing and buying it later, spending more money then you wanted to. Good luck finding what you want. CD
  12. IMOH the RF-7s need a good amount of space. My room is just a bit bigger then yours and I feel if it was to much smaller the imaging might not be right, but of course placement can play a roll. I would think the room would have a bigger effect on sound in a room that small. I do think they are great sounding if you set everything up well. You may just end out haveing to do more experimenting then most people would. If your room is just for your home theater only, then I think it would work if you put time into it. Good luck. CD
  13. Fyermabrle and I talked on the phone about the essay. Fyermarble had a short amount of time to write the essay in class. Also got a quick call today from her sayinge that she didn't copy and paste everything exactly as written. Spelling errors and and other problems ertr not seen and fixed while she was writting it here on the forum, but later saw them and haven't fixed the errors yet. There is a quick question about writting an eassy I want to ask. What if the essay is about the writter? How do you not include words such as "I","me",and "myself"? Would you write it useing your own name over and over? CD
  14. yep, thats exactly what I was looking for. Know anything about those speakers? CD
  15. Darn, because the upload only allowes certin files types, I can't upload it on here. I just hope someone can get a good picture and maybe get someone talking. It just makes me wonder if they are almost done with a new speaker line design. O well. CD
  16. I am not talking about the nice preimier picture that I think everyone has seen by now. I am talking about ones taken with basketball player Jermine O'Neal. The speakers have white cones and a front port and its a floorstanding speaker that looks maybe to be the size of an RF-3. I dunno how the link thing works so I will copy and paste the web site. Yes I did get the picture from klipsch.com and I will attempt a download link picture on the my next reply. http://www.klipsch.com/newscenter/photocaption.aspx?id=1407 CD
  17. I am interested in the upgrade, but I have 3 RF-7s. Funds are a bit of a problem. Give me about a month. My main question is, what about shipping and payment and so on? Mainly, what do I have to do to pay you, get the crossovers and install them? I did read mOOn's thread and am glad it made a nice improvement. CD
  18. I honestly think its an old Rebel series sat in white. Very small speaker that is about 8 inches tall. I have a pair in black and that left curve and symbole placment is where it is on mine. I would take a picture, but my digtial camra doesn't seem to want to put pictures on the computer. If I am off, then I dunno what it is. CD
  19. I have done some reading and found something Harmon International as they did research on, where is the best placement and whats the best number of subs. I belive it was 4 subs in either a diamond shape placement. For example, one in the front middle, one in the middle back, and one on each side of the group of seats. The other is one sub in each corner. They used alot of subs, I forget the number, but its more then TheEars has. From that research, 4 is the most you'll need. CD
  20. For the last 3 years. Lets see, if my memory is right 3 RF-7s 2001 1 RSW-15 2001 2 RF-3IIs 1 RC-3II 2 RS-3IIs I realize that looks like everything, but I have bought more then I have shown. My first Klipsch speakers were the Rebel series sats and KSW-100 as a sub(I think back in 1997). I loved it and it paired up well. Later on in life got a longer lasting job sense I was out of high school and made more money. Long live Klipsch and this forum. But One thing for sure will not die, our memory of the famous founder himself, Paul W Klipsch. CD
  21. After reading the first line about a klipsch plaque, I quickly(I have a cable connection)went over to see if they did exist in exitment and ordered it. When I saw it, I said, I gotta have one of these. I am thinking of getting an SVS plaque as well, even thou I don't have an SVS sub. Maybe I can order an SVS soon depending on what I decided to upgrade next. BTW, I love this forum as it has been teaching me things about audio, by favorite hobby. CD
  22. Well, thanks to Rudy81 for some info he gave me, I was able to talk to a dealer that gave some really good prices and advice. I am looking at getting a Parasound A52 and if I can, I will try to get the Parasound C2 Preamp. I have read the manual that I downloaded it it has alot of features. I have been told that Klipsch and Parasound Halo make a great match. Thank you for all your help. Just to let you all know, I did look at B&K amps as weel as Sunfire, Aragon,Krell(just for fun)and Nad. But I haven't heard any of these. The dealer that Rudy told me about is half way across the country and no one close enough caries any of the brands I just talked about. So I am basicly going on blind but educated guess here. I did talk to the dealer about Aragon and Nad and he said Parasound is a better match for Klipsch as other Klipsch owners were happy with it as well. I did however tell him what I was looking for, so I think this is not a bad choice. CD
  23. Audioadvisior is selling both the Aragon Stage One and the 2005 for "only" $4500 USD. Not bad considering the MRSP for the Stage One alone is 4 grand. Just to let you all know. I would jump on this deal if I had the money. website here http://audioadvisor.com/store/productdetail.asp?sku=ARASTAGEONEK1&product_name=Aragon%20Stage%20One%20Processor%20and%202005%20Five-Channel,%20200W%20Home%20Theater%20Amplifier CD
  24. Well, I am honestly looking for nutral amp. So that makes Outlaw and Adcom a bad choice in this case. I realize I didn't state this before, but I don't want to spend more then $2000 USD. My other ideas were the Parasound HCA-2205AT or the Parsound HALO A52. I think someone said that the Parasound HALO sounded netral. Thank you for your answer so far. CD
  25. I would suggest the same thing. Use it as a center. Makes a great center in my opinion and it blends very well with the others. Sounds going from side to side sounds very seamless. CD
