  1. SleepAway camp has a 4 disc boxed set out. Pretty cheap too, all 4 discs for around 24$. Classic 80's horror movies, the first one takes itself kinda seriously, but the second and third are humorous. It was thought by some people to be a Friday the 13th knock off, but I feel its 10X better. It's definately worth checking out, ecscpecially for the price. -mkl

    5 CD's 2 DVD;s

My local cd store guy just told me he'd give me a deal if I bought in bunches of > 1000$. I'm turning in a list this week and he's ordering the first batch. Is this a pissing contest? -mkl
  3. "when you were 14 did you have mcintosh amps and home made tubes? no" Someone doesn't know when to give up and move on...
  4. As far as counting the things I own... I actually was robbed about 2-3 months ago now, and I had to turn in an exact list of everything stolen... so I dug through all of my receipts and records and had to find the exact amount , im sure I missed a few, but ohwell. For the most part since I had all of my cds ripped into mp3 I can easily get a count of how many albums I have, since I keep the music I download from Mp3.com seperate from the other files. Same with DVDS, all of them were stolen, so I had to have an exact count. The good news is I got an insurance check, and went out and bought all new stuff...a little over 8000$ of stuff. When I was robbed they didn't take any of my Klipsch stuff, but they did take my SVS 20-39 out into my driveway, and then left it there! Maybe they couldn't fit it into their car Since then I keep EXACT lists of everything I own and how much it costs (paranoid) -mkl
  5. 183 Dvds 540 Cds (give or take 20 or so) 42 records 43 Gigs of mp3s (7,525 almost all of those are just my own cd rips, probably less than 200-300 are downloads, and those are legal from mp3.com) I think I also have an eight track around here somewhere, and atleast 20 cassette tapes
  6. I have the marantz 8200. I love it. Don't be scared off by the talk of bad Quality Control. There may have been a few bad units, but that was in the earlier models, and has been awhile ago. I haven't heard of anyone getting a Marantz with a problem except for in that small amount of time. Greatly exaggerated reports, as you can expect on the internet, since when one person has a problem, everyone echos that sentiment till it seems like EVERYONE is having problems! And don't worry about over powering your speakers, Your ears will explode first! -MKL
  7. accessories for less is refurb reseller remember. The good news is it is the only official refurb store, so you get a reduced marantz warranty (one year). I have a refurb sr8200 from them, and I have had no problems, it's a GREAT receiver. -mkl
  8. I really enjoy having a rear surrounds. Any DTS movie can utilize the matrixed rear surrounds, so any DTS movie can be made to play from all speakers. Same with Dolby EX. So basically, any dvd in your library in dts or DD will utilize the rear channel. I think its neat for a lot of movies, nothing ground breaking, but it fills in the gap of sound behind the listening area for me. -mkl
  9. I drive a 1973 Orange Volkswagen Thing everyday. I'm not sure if it counts as classic, but it's pretty rare
  10. I've had the SP-1's for over a year now... I didn't use them with an extra sub for quite awhile and found them to ok... I used them for about 50% music, 50% movies. Always in a smallish space (Apartments) Most people who watched movies with me thought the bass was fine, not incredible, but not really lacking. I think it all depends on where you are going with your system, I wish now I had not gotten the SP-1's and had gone right for a reference or heritage system (mostly because I just got some Heresys which sound great! If I had to do it all over again, I would pick up some bookshelfs and a SVS sub to hold me over while I waited for some low price heritage to show up. -mkl
  11. Ok, I don't know anything about what different woods look like, I have "HWL" on the speaker tag...does that mean its a walnut finish? I thought walnut was much darker than what I have... -mkl
  12. I have been lurking at the Klipsch forums for over a year now, but finally had something to post about. I've been using a Synergy system for a little over that year, SP-1 Mains, SC-1,SS-1s, and a SVS 20-39. Today I went and picked up an amazing pair of Heresys however, and for 200$! The man I bought them from was the original owner, and a great guy! They are in great condition, with the cabinets being exceptionally clean and free of scratches or marks, and he even threw in some monster speaker cable. First of all, the serial numbers are: 8519191/8519192 I saw in another post that letters were used as a date code...However, I have no letters! Anyone know why, and what the date would be on this pair? The owner thought he bought them in 1981. Second, any opinions on what I do with my system for now? Its used about 50/50 music/HT. At the moment, I have the Heresys as the mains, with the SC-1 as the center channel, and the SP-1's as the surrounds, with one of the SS-1's as the rear surround. I'm currently using the above speakers plus: Marantz SR8200 receiver Toshiba DVD Player I plan on finding some more heritage speakers at some point in the future (hopefully) but it might not be for a long time, so what would you do for now? Also, I'm thinking about putting the heresys on stands, about 15" off the ground, any reason not to? -MKL
