  1. Syber Saint: Welcome to the forum! I chimed-in here because I am one of the lucky members who was fortunate to listen to the entire Klipsch THK In-Ceiling speaker system at the Klipsch Headquarters in Indianapolis a few years back. They had the complete system installed in one of the engineering department listening rooms and I must say that it was amazing. I realize they are very pricey ($999.00 each), but the KS-7502-THX In-Ceiling surrounds should mesh nicely with the RF-82 II fronts. To experience the entire THX in-ceiling system is a bit unnerving because you can hear the rich, full sound being distributed into all of the expected regions of the room, yet there aren't any speakers sitting in front of or beside you. Klipsch really went out of their way to get the projection on these speakers just right. There are other in-ceiling Klipsch models to choose from, however, they do not exhibit some of the advanced design capabilities that the KS-7502-THX do. Perhaps, If the 7502's are out of your budget, you might ask one of the Klipsch Employees here on the forum to consult with the engineering department for you to recommend an appropriate in-ceiling model more within your budget that would mesh well with the voicing of the RF-82 II's you have selected. Best of luck! -Glenn
  2. Thanks Daddy and Michael! She's doing great today. -Glenn
  3. Brett: Are you saying that it sounds BETTER with the laundry room door CLOSED? If so, that confirms the assumption I made to you when I said that doorway needed a door to tighten up the bass and help with the overall sound distribution. -Glenn
  4. Thanks everyone! We were able to get Ms. Rose home last evening around 6 pm, amid the falling snow. We got about 6 inches last night and it made driving a bit "interesting". She's doing great and enjoying her morning coffee ("NOT DECAF!" she says) and the morning newspaper. She's so glad to be home. The doctor said she has no blockages in her main arteries, which at 93 tears old is incredible and believes it was an infection that did her in on Monday. The infection is now gone. Thank again everyone! -Glenn
  5. Hello, folks: Those of you who know my mom (Ms. Rose) (93 yrs) will probably wish to know that she had a bit of a rough time this Christmas. She did not have a heart attack, but had to be taken to the hospital by ambulance on Christmas Eve morning because she was having a very difficult time breathing and she was shaking like a leaf and said she was cold. We followed the ambulance there and by the time we got to see her in the ER, they had her settled-down quite a bit. Please know that she is now doing excellent and should probably be coming home with us this afternoon! The doctors believe that it was all simply caused by her meds needing to be re-adjusted and they also discovered she had some sort of infection that is now subsiding. As compared to when they brought her in on Monday, she was looking remarkable yesterday evening as you can see in the photo as I took her for a little walk in the hospital hallway. Please don;t worry, mom is doing great and she wishes you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! I'll have her down in the home theater watching her favorite video concert, 'Pick Floyd: Pulse' by this evening! I think she has "a thing" for David Gilmore. LOL Take care my friends. She's amazing! -Glenn
  6. It's always fun to listen to and experience someone else's system and to get to know them better And, if we can be of help to them, so much the better! -Glenn
  7. Mallette: Two constants: I will always be here on this forum and Bose will always suck! [] Thanks! - Glenn
  8. Thanks for the good words, Steve. It would be great to see you again next year at the next pilgrimage! Brett: You should consider attending, too! -Glenn

  10. ...And I just noticed: The Above was my 5,000th post here on the forum!! WOO-HOO!!!!!
  11. Brett: Thanks so much! It was my pleasure to come over to your home yesterday, meet your awesome Golden Lab "Duncan" (or is it "Dunkin"? LOL) and enjoy spending the afternoon with you tweaking your system. You have a fine setup and I am envious of your twin RSW-15's and that beautiful, monster of an amp you have. I'm thrilled that we were able to get your system back to where you enjoyed it so much at your other home! Thank's too to my good friend Neil (Diz Rotus) for hooking the two of us up! It's always great to make new friends, especially when there's Klipsch in common! What a GREAT FORUM we all have! KLIPSCH RULES!! -Glenn
  12. "Ooooooohm..." RIP Ravi. -Glenn
  13. Thanks a lot, Amy. I do trust your judgment and opinion. Thank you for the quick feedback! -Glenn
  14. A good friend of mine told me this morning that they are interested in the Klipsch G17 AirPlay speaker system and he wanted to know my opinion on them. The trouble is, I have yet to see or listen to one. Could any of you whom have done so please share your views about the G17 AirPlay with me? Thanks so much. -Glenn
  15. Guys: Please forgive my ignorance, but please explain the abbreviation used here "lp". Sorry. Is it "listening position"? Thanks. -Glenn
  16. Steve: I do agree with the others, too. However, if that doesn't suit your needs, one alternative might be what my friend Roger has done with success: If at all possible, move the couch out, partially away from the wall behind it and place the two rears flat on their backs on the floor (if it's a hard floor, I suggest on some sort of rug or foam) facing straight up towards the ceiling and at each end of the couch. I was amazed at how effective this technique was using RS-8's which have a similar dispersion pattern. Only a suggestion. Best of luck! -Glenn
  17. ebdixson: BTW, I just thought I'd mention that we don't live that far from one another. I'm in Allen Park (near Dearborn). -Glenn
  18. jhoak: Jeff, this is certainly a very heart-warming story. I recall reading your original post just after this happened and I felt very badly for you as well. However, the warm generosity which neo33 (and others) has demostrated smacks so loudly of the quality of people we are so fortunate to have here on this wonderful forum! neo33, you sir, are a first-class act as are the others who contributed! It's amazing how this forum continues to bring such great people together from across the country and even the world. And to think, it all began with a hobby. -Glenn
  19. Heresys would be the perfect match; same tweeter and squawker only with a 12" woofer. But if you prefer built-ins, perhaps check out Klipsch's Architectural Series line of speakers. (LINK) Some even have a THX rating. I would estimate that your choices would mainly depend on your budget and your room's needs -Glenn
  20. Here's a photo of Dion and his wife Jennifer Longworth.
  21. I'm fairly certain that Verna and I also met Dion at one of the pilgrimages and spoke with him briefly. Our hearts go out to Dion and his wife, their family and friends and to all of our friends at Klipsch. May God bless. -Glenn & Verna
  22. We had a Sears Silvertone record player for years, but it was mono. Our family's first stereo came around 1967 in the form of a Panasonic RE-7070 - 8 Track AM FM Stereo that dad bought at a local drugstore. I eventually made a pair of 8 in, infinite-baffle, extension speakers for it to place in my bedroom. The little guy served us well for years until I entered the Navy. -Glenn
  23. 23 ft x 16.5 ft is a very respectable-sized theater. Nice! Thanks.
  24. Orange Peel: I've been the proud owner of a Cherry RSW-15 since 2004. I think it's a fantastic performer. It's very musical and works great in LFE duty when viewing movies. (Master and Commander cannonball scene to mention one- unreal!) We've done done some curves on our room and it not only takes a good sub to go low, it also takes a good room. Ours measured out: +/- 3db down to 13 Hz. Go buy an RSW-15 and enjoy! -Glenn
