  1. I have a set of Klipsch Quintets with out the sub. I am short on cash, and it is most unfortunate that I have to sell some of my home theater stuff. They have never been abused, only been used with movies on an onkyo txsr 500 reciever (not possible to do any damage at all), and have never been moved or anything, mounted them once and they have stayed there. I have pictures of them if you'd like. Also I will give three 30 foot pieces of monster cl3 rated in wall speaker wire with the easy pull jacket 14 guage. I am asking $250.00 or BEST OFFER. I paid full price for them and got them in Early November so they have not even been fully broken in. If you want a sub I also have an Infinity Entra sub 1 that I would be willing to sell along with them. I have all the recipts and packaging. Please E-mail me at Jumpinjack701@aol.com or respond and I will get back to you ASAP.

  3. first of all, i work at best buy, second of all..... i know more about audio and home audio then you could hope to learn in a dozen lifetimes. You are so pathetic that you have to make fun of people online, I hate to see what you look like, i bet you any amount of money that you are 20 lbs overweight, and you lost your job so you sit online all day and diss people just to forget about your pathetic life for 5 min. And if you respond to anything else other than agreement I wouldn't believe it because you are so lame that you have to bust on people that just want to shoot the Sh$t about some nice speakers. You know what else? if you complain well you know what? its a free country? and here is one right that I think you should exercise! and that is the right to leave....... how about you never respond in this forum again, and better yet leave the united states because you sound like someone that just needs to get back at the world because you have no confidence and you have been walked on all your life, basically what has happened right now....
  4. I thought that I would always be loyal to klipsch, I own plenty of klipsch products, but the other day i was looking at the rf7's and i compared them to the sonus faber's top of the line, and I personally like the sonus faber's better..... and best buy? i don't know the whole things sounds shady
  5. Being that I am an employee at Best Buy, I do have to say that it will be nice to sell something decent to coustomers rather than having to sell them JBL and Blose. At the same time, while not on the clock, I am very disapointed in the fact that Klipsch has resorted to Best Buy. The lowest end component on my stereo is far better than anything Best Buy sells, and my worst cable is from Best Buy. Who knows, being a salesman in the audio department can be rough seeing how I have to sell a lot of very very very very very very very very very very very very very bad speakers and recievers. Ohh and Cd players.
  6. I recently got a pair of mission 700 speakers for free. The finish is a little worn, but I have the tools and the materials to fix that, but also, it needs new speaker grills and the woofers massivle need to be reconed if not replaced, they are completly destroyed, and I don't know if the tweeters are any good. But I looked up the price on them and the msrp was $650, so I figure it would be nice to refinish them, and have them reconed, possibly build a new crossover. Anyways I has hoping that you guys could give me some sites where I could buy a reconing kit, and also where to get a schmatic diagram for a good crossover. Thanks
  7. i for one am i firm believer in the quest for that 2%, i have rewired most of my speakers and the improvement is amazing. I had a pair of kg2.2's and when i rewired those the difference was amazing.........

    BOSE=BLOSE or B=Better O=Off S=Spending E=Elsewhere take your pick
  9. i have 4 sats, and the center, with all the orignal packaging, and brackets, i don't have the ksw 10, but the infinity entra il100 series sub, if you would be interested, but that is completly up to you, i live about 20 min from chicago...... i also have pics if you would like them, you can write my e-mail, if you are further interested in them, jumpinjack701@aol.com
  10. I have all five speakers. The center and the four satlites. As for a sub, I didn't buy the ksw 10 because of the amp and fuse issues that I have seen. So instead to match I bought an infinity entra il100 10' sub, which i think is nicer than the ksw 10, i would sell that if you want it...... I do have pics as well if you want them. As for price they are 35 on ubid, each for new in box and i havn't seen a quintet center for a while, but the last time i did i saw it for 50, but that was a while ago.. I was going to see what people would pay and then cut a deal....
  11. I am almost positive on buying the integra dtm 5.3 stereo receiver for a little stereo sound system for music. I am thinking of using that with a pair of definitive technologies bp2006tl? does anyone know about def tech, i demo'd a pair and they sounded really really good, no it was those or a pair of m&k bookshelf speakers and the sub that i have already, which i will be using regardless. My question is what do you think of def tech and the dtm 5.3........ Also I was looking into the reference series floorstanding speakers but in the ways of overall sound the def techs i thought sounded better, but the best were the m&k they just had absoluley no bass whats so ever.....
  12. Anyone out there interested in all 5 quintets, I have a set with all the original packaging, I've had them for about 2 months, bought them to just play around with. Never had more than 55 watts rms driving them, and made sure the never distorted. I really have no asking price. Name a price and what not. I have pictures of them.... and original recipts and all of that stuff as well......
  13. i bought them to mess around with, check out what the deal was with them and what not, and now its time to move on. to be on the safe side they never had more than 55 watss going to them and i made sure they never distorted. So if anyone is interested in them name your price and what not. I have pics, Origanal Packaging etc.
  14. i bought a set of quintets to play around with and I really have no use for them so if you are intereseted i would be will to sell them, i still have all the packaging etc.....
  15. i am totally down for that, i'm sure some peoples are worse, but mine is preety brutal right now, especially since i bought some new fiber optic cable tonight i moved anything that was orginized
  16. My bad, I did forget the important stuff. The room is a rectangle that is 13.5' x 23.5', odd demensions, but its an old house. As for my listening habits, I listen at very loud levels, need power, bass, good clear highs, and good midrange for sure, and good seperation. umm I couldn't give a dB range for loudness, the more i like it the louder it goes and i listen to just about every type of music. As for a budget, I have learned that have a strict budget with a stereo just doesn't work because you end up going over anyways. So for this moment my budget is lossley set between 2000 and 4500 for receiver and speakers only. Speaker cable and connections is not an issue at this moment.
  17. I just recently finished my home theater stereo. I am happy with it, but music just doesn't cut it. So I decided it would be cool to buy a new pair of speakers and put them on the "b" speakers. After about 30 seconds I decided that would be rather lame. So I decided that another reciver was definatly in line. Then at that point, I decided I would really like to have to seperate stereos, a home theater and a 2 channel stereo. So for the receiver i was thinking about 1. Onkyo 2. Integra(onkyo i know only a little higher ended, but i am prefered to onkyo products) 3. Mc Intosh 4. ???? your suggestions??? in no way is this in order of preference..... Then for floorstanding speakers only I am thinking about 1. Paradigm 2. Klipsch refrence only 3. MK labs 4. ??? Once again OPEN???? 5. Mirage OM only. now I havn't even started to listen to these products because I am still in preperation and all of that. These choices are all out of my personal preferences, past expierence and what not. Thanks for any input
  18. I own this receiver amoung others, and I also have had that hissing problem. And it is mostly due to your speakers because I also own the previos version of that receiver which is almost the same thing internally and it is hooked up with crappy speakers and you can not hear any hiss. The other thing is that it is a very low end receiver, its onkyo's lowest end model so what can you really expect? its going to be your best buy for the money for sure but if you want to eleminate that sound you'll probbaly just have to spend more money. i know the 600 internally would probably have about 1/3 less of the hiss......
  19. I think everyone has seen the "cute" little satlites that mirage released last year claiming to have a perfect 360 degree sound stage etc.... well has anyone seen the new omni-polar floor speakers, its a floor standing speaker but at the top it has one of those satalites built in. At one time I did own mirage and I actually do miss my old frx set up a little, but my klipch's put them to shame... anyways I just was wondering if anyone else thought they looked as funny as i thought they did...
  20. Well horn ed.... in the words of Confusious I believe..... "Those who Love there job...... never work a day in their life." A little up dated but that is the general idea...
  21. your onkyo should have a parameter selector on the right side of the display and you have the settings when you go through there on turning the sub on and off, and the size of your speakers, and the delay time etc..... If you know how to use the memory function on your reciever I would put the sub on and then save it right away..... The other thing I would Do is take a VOM meter and check the sub woofer pre out when it is turned out and see if it sends any power out. I am in doubt that the pre out is no good. I think it has something to do with the memory of your parameter selectors since you have had no sub on for 3 years now..... just a thought though. I have used/owned 7 different onkyo receivers i depth and i think that there is no better product out there.... and none of the ones I have used have had never used parts break.... i have used the tx-ds 878 the model right above yours.... so i'm not sure what to tell you.... did you e-mail onkyo.... they are very responsive about coustomer service and etc etc and so forth
  22. so what you are looing for is a component to firewire cable... like the s-video to coxial rca type cables.... I have personally never seen anything like that just because firewire is not standard on most receivers and home audio equipment well yet at least... so if they make a cable I'm sure your looking to pay a preety penny... and if you can't find one. you can make one with relative ease. it would have to be heavily shielded and etc etc and so forth.....
  23. your receive depending on how much it flattens out on its peak to peak frequency is what is going to matter. Well 128 is about sitting 3rd row of a concert and that usally does damage. 86 is i think normal coversation level.... my system peaks at about 97 and rms from 30 hz to 19000 hz is about 87 so thats good enough for me..... it gets loud enough to have the occasional party and do some hearing damage.... lol
  24. I have a question... is there something wrong with the mounts that came with the ones you got... I mean why not mount them on the wall........ Satalites are going to sound the best when they are as high as possible aiming at the listening postion......
  25. Those SVS subs are supposedly really really nice.... unfortunatly I have not heard them..... but this is one person I would definatly talk to.... he makes coustom subs to fit your needs and he uses M&K Drivers and Amps.... and they are gorgous and sound great "ryanlthomas2000@yahoo.com" he can send you pics specs and more.... He knows what he is doing and the price is very very very reasonable for the quality that you get.... I don't know if that would help you but maybe.........
