  1. Chris, Thank you. I just finished talking to him. He said, that the shipping company said they received all the speakers back, but the Center channel. They told him they expect to get the center channel back On Monday. He said he is trying to get to the bottom of this and will try to ship them back to me via Fedex next week. My feeling is, he either does not have the speakers in stock yet, and is trying to buy time. But he could have tell me that and I would have understand. Ok, I'll wait for one more weeks.
  2. He said, he has a lot of customers in Canada. Specifically in Vanacouver, and usually crossed the border very often. He mentioned that he has a deal with Fedex, to tkae care of all customs duty etc..
  3. Yes, I checked, and his company was on the klipsch authorized dealer list. The company, phone number from klispch match.
  4. I met this individual from the Klipsch forum, He mentioned that he is an authorized Klipsch dealer. I checked his website and everything seemed fine. I sent him an email about placing an order for a pair of RF83, 1 RC-64 and a pair of RS-62. I wanted to know whether he is willing to ship to Ottawa, Canada. He said Yes, and told me that he is 30 minutes away from Vancouver, Canada and can actually drive accross the border and ship the speaker to me there. I then placed an order for a pair of RF83, 1 RC-64 and a pair of RS-62 on January 14, 2008. I paid him via my AMEX card my credit card was charged to its name for the amount of $3728US on January 15, 2008. He promised me to ship the speakers within a week and will email a tracking number as soon as he shipped them.. 3 weeks later, never heard from him. I called him and asked him to give me an update on my order. He acted as if he didn't rememeber anything about the order. I followed up with an email that detailled the order and my address information, and reminded him about this order. He later replied to me that he has shipped the speakers and the shipping company told him that they tried to deliver the speakers many times and no one was home. I replied to him that I have someone home every day in my house, and it is impossible that someone tried to deliver anything, and I never received any delivery notice either. I replied to him asked him, which shipping company did he used, and can he send me a tracking number. He simply gnore the request and replied that he contacted the shipping company and the shipping company told him that the speakers has returned to their warehouse. He tried to tell all types of nonsense. I asked him again which shipping company was it and doesd he have a tracking. I contacted the carriers (Fedex, UPS, DHL) asked them to check their database from January 15 - to present to see whther there is any shipment sent to me, they all checked and told me no. I then asked him to please reimburse my Credit card. I never heard from him since. Before I take this matter further, can you guys let me know your experience with him. Thanks,
  5. Owned the 990 for about 3 months. Sold it on ebay -Reason: I'm 90% music and 10% movies. If you like music the 990 is not the processor for you. However, it is good for movie. Owned the Aragon Stage One for about a year. Excellent processor for both music and movies. However, I sold it after a year due to lack of Dolby Prologic IIx decoding. I like the ability to lay DPL-IIx over DTS or Dolby digital I currently own the Arcam AVP700. Bought it about a year ago. Excellent processor for both music and movies. However, it shines even more in music. If you like music, then that's the processor you should look at. Regards,
  6. I found an excellent deal on an RT12d and bought one, but can not even connect it yet. The sub is actually huge. Looking at the picture on the website you would have thougth this tiny sub.
  7. I'm currently using a Sennheiser 650 powered by a Meier Korda Headamp MKII amplifier. Excenlent Combination, but costly.

  9. Thanks DrWho, Interesting reading, I may be able to do. I have a budget of $3K CAD just for the treatment. I don't mind taking a wall down and rebuild it or change the room layout if needed.

  11. Guys, My room is 21X17->10ft ceiling, I don't care much about movies. Music is my number one priority. I'm getting some very bad echoes at high volume. Should I hire a professional to treat the room, or can I do it myself? If I can do it myself, how? How do I determine the areas that need treatment? The thing is, there are not many professionals in the area where I am, capable of perfomring such treatment, or at least none I'm aware of.

  14. Non-sense!!! I had both the Outlaw and the Arcam, and compared to Mark I heard differently. Due the reason, you should only always listen for yourself, not what other users tell you. And again the AVP700 is not the AVR300. And as stated previously, I'll will be chocked if the 990 sounds better than the AVR300. By the way I'm not just talking non-sense or guessing or spelling what someone else told me. I had the Outlaw 990 for 2 months, then sold it on ebay a week after I bought the AVP700.   15. Not to forget that English is not even the third language of some members of this forum.(Including myself). Also remember that not everyone on this forum has a bachelor or a master degree in the English language.
  16. My 2 cents: Build yourself a decent HTPC, and rip all your CDs into a lossless format (APE, FLAC etc....). If you have a decent receiver or Pre/pro with excellent DAC, simply buy a soundcard with bit perfect digital out. Connect the digital out of the card to the digital in of your receiver/Pre/Pro and enjoy excellent sound at the tip of your mouse. If you don't have a decent Receiver/Pre/Pro, then buy a pro grade sound card such as (Creative emu 1820m) and a cheap/expensive (depending on your budget) 7 channel amplifier. This combination will outclass any mid priced Pre/pro, receiver.
  17. I would vote for none of the above. Ditch the CD changer that is so 1990s [] Forget the ipod that is so high tech geek [8-|] but no high brow hi-fi.[6] What you need to do is rip all of your CDs to various formats. MP3 for portability and small file size. FLAC for lossless compression for critical listening and WAV just so you have them in the total original format for future use. Once you have those 3 formats covered you are set IMO. The real pain is the actual ripping of the CD if you have hundreds like I do. Fortunately there is a program called MAREO that when used in conjunction with EAC you can put your CD in once and rip to a dozen or so formats. I am in the process of doing that right now. With Gigabytes and Gigabytes of numerous formats of music on your HDD, all you need to do is set up a music server. Something like an Audiotron or Squeezbox will do nicely. You also might look into a Windows media PC. Just be sure and back up your music once you have it digitized. I did not and had a HDD failure. So now I am ripping all my CDs AGAIN![] Why would you want to rip in both a lossless format and Wave? It's like saving a zipped and an unzipped copy of the same file. APE, FLAC or Apple Lossless are actually a compressed version of the wave file. When needed, You can always decompress the lossless format into it's original wave format without losing any information. It's a waste of space to save in both formats. I will challenge any one who tell me they can hear a difference between a lossless compressed audio file and the original CD.

  20. Judging on your impressions of the AVR300, I can predict that while you will find the Outlaw seperates not tood bad sounding but the Outlaw 2 channel music performance won't be no match for the AVR300.
  21. I got it since last November. I've been using it for almost 3 months now. My vote goes for the AVR300. I had the Outlaw 990 for about 2 months and was not impressed with the way it sounded with My RF7. Specially, I found its 2 channels perfomance weak.
  22. I currently own the Arcam AVP700 which is a slightly improved AVR300 without the amp section. It is being used with RF7/RC7/RF35/RB5. I'm using the Aragon 2002+2005 for amplification. And I must say I love that matchup. The 2 channels (not the direct bypass - I 'm not one of those who pay $3000 for a processor just to bypass its processing ability in favor of a $500 CD/DVD player) is the best I've heard so far. As pointed out above the DL IIx is excellent on both 2 channel and 5.1 sources. The unit gives you the option of having pure stereo (pure 2 channel without the sub). I never heard the AVR300 itself but I believe there should be not much difference between the two. Now, If you don't mind me asking, do you have any specific reason to not buying a pre/pro instead? Will you be using the on-board amp on the AVR300 or external amplification? If yes, and if money is not an issue I will recommend the AVP700.
  23. The Sanyo PLV Z2 or the new Z3 are both excellent units. IMO, Price/Performance the Sanyo PLV is unbeatable. I currently own the Z2 and I'm very satisfied with it.
  24. That's the part I don't understand, If your highs are too high then tone them down. Every receiver/Pre-Pro has tone controls for just that purpose. Remember a lot of people loves Klipsch due to their high efficiency speakers, trying to change that may drive a few people away.
