  1. Hi, Need some advice from my fav group. I have a Mazda Protege DX (1993) Red Automatic that had been lying idle for over a year at my apt. parking lot. The management got it towed citing that they have every right to do so since the car dint have the current inspection/reg tags. Now, the towing company is asking me to shell out 400$. Can anyone tell me what happens if I don't pick up my car from them? I don't wanna spend anymore mone on that car. Can I get into any legal trouble with this? BTW..anyone interested in buying this car from me? I am giving it away for free - the buyer has to just pay the towing charges - 400$. The vehicle has been lying idle bcoz of following problems 1)Overheating when idling 2)Some strange jerkiness in tranny when driven around for some time I am in Austin, Texas. Regards, -Kid
  2. Hi, The best way to disable popups is to use a non-IE browser. I use Mozilla Firebird - a pretty awesome browser with lotsa features including popup blocking, tabbed browsing (this allows u to browse multiple sites in a single window), etc. And, it's free. And yeah, disable the messaging feature, as mentioned by Klipschfoot. Here's the link to Firebird: http://www.mozilla.org/products/firebird/ Also, here's a link explaining why u shud be using it: http://www.mozilla.org/products/firebird/why/ Enjoy. -Kid
  3. Thanx for all the info guys! Again, I knew I wouldn't be disappointed on this forum ;-) Anyway, I have a few doubts. Please forgive my ignorance. An integrated amp comes with a pre-amp and a power amp, rt? So, if I go the integrated route, how would I hook it up with the Kenwood? I had thought I would connect the Kenwood pre-outs to the tube amp, but Chris points out that this won't make much of a difference. Comments? Thoughts? -Prince
  4. Hmmm...I just checked Ebay and I find that there's an auction for the sca-35, ending in 4 days. It's currently at 100$. Will keep a close watch on that. By the way, there's another auction happenning for the Eico HF-20. Could anyone post some comments on this amp? How is it? And how much should one be willing to spend on it? -Kid
  5. Hi guys, I have a heard a lot about how great tube amps are and I wanna give it a shot. Would like to ask y'all on this. I have a pair of Klipsch RP-3s which are part of a HT system, powered by a Kenwood VR-6070. I would like to go for a decent tube amp, to be connected to the Kenwood's pre-outs, to power the RP3s. Which amp would u suggest for a newbie like me? The main issue is price. I would like to get something in the 100-200$ range. I know this ain't a lot..but I am just a poor student!! I was checking out some of the auctions at Ebay, but have no idea what to go for. Any suggestions? -Kid
  6. Ice, I have the VR 6070 alongwith Klipsch RP3 mains, RC3II center and Quintet (planning to upgrade) surrounds. The receiver does a very good job in both music and HT. I really like the CSII listening mode - it has some nice settings that you can tweak. With the high sensitivity of the reference series, you will get very clean and powerful sound. If you search online, you can get great deals for around 420-450$. For that price, this receiver offers a lot. Also, there's a very helpful forum going on at http://www.ecoustics.com/bbs/messages/1/624.html Lots of info there. But I daresay, nothing when compared to Klipsch's forums! All the best. -kpq
  7. Sorry to add more to your confusion. If u r looking for a sub 500$ receiver, with all the bells and whistles, do give the Kenwood VR 6070 a look. I have this unit and it's a solid performer. I think no other receiver has so many features in this price range. All the best for ur search. -kpq
  8. Thanx for all your encouragement and support guys. You guys rock! Trey, I will be getting in touch with you soon. Need to make myself "marketable". Any suggestions on that? Do give us some pointers on what Klipsch expects. -kpq
  9. Hi, I know this sounds weird - but, what the heck. I am so enamoured by Klipsch that I would love to get a job at Klipsch, preferably under manufacturing/operations or R&D. How do I go about this? Any ideas? I am a new graduate, done my Masters in Manufacturing Systems. Regards, kpq.
  10. Thanx guys for ur inputs. I appreciate it and I am really keen on the Outlaw. Got one qsn though. My primary goal wud be listening to music thru the receiver while watching DVDs will be secondary. How is the Outlaw 1050 for music? Does the lack of ProLogic 2 really matter? Regards, kpq
  11. Hello to my fellow Klipsch fans, I know this may be a dumb question, but I need some advice. I have 2 RP3s, an RC3 and 2 Quintets and I am looking for a good A/V receiver in the 300-600$ range. Any suggestions keeping my speakers in mind? I eventually plan to upgrade to a proper 6.1 speaker setup, so a nice 6.1 receiver with all the bells and whistles would be nice. Any favs in the 300 - 600 price range? Thanx -kpq
  12. Hey, I am still interested. Let's do it!!

Hi guys, Check out Troglodytes by Jimmy Castor Bunch. It's hilarious! TROGLODYTE (CAVE MAN) Jimmy Castor Note: While there is a pounding beat in the background, the song is spoken rather than sung What we're gonna do right here is go back, way back, back into time. When the only people that existed were troglodytes...cave men... cave women...Neanderthal...troglodytes. Let's take the average cave man at home, listening to his stereo. Sometimes he'd get up, try to do his thing. He'd begin to move, something like this: "Dance...dance". When he got tired of dancing alone, he'd look in the mirror: "Gotta find a woman gotta find a woman gotta find a woman gotta find a woman". He'd go down to the lake where all the woman would be swimming or washing clothes or something. He'd look around and just reach in and grab one. "Come here...come here". He'd grab her by the hair. You can't do that today, fellas, cause it might come off. You'd have a piece of hair in your hand and she'd be swimming away from you (ha-ha). This one woman just lay there, wet and frightened. He said: "Move...move". She got up. She was a big woman. BIG woman. Her name was Bertha. Bertha Butt. She was one of the Butt sisters. He didn't care. He looked up at her and said: "Sock it to me sock it to me sock it to me sock it to me sock it to me sock it to me sock it to me sock it to me!". She looked down on him. She was ready to crush him, but she began to like him. She said (falsetto): "I'll sock it to ya, Daddy". He said: "Wha?". She said (falsetto): "I'll sock it to ya, Daddy". You know what he said? He started it way back then. I wouldn't lie to you. When she said (falsetto) "I'll sock it to ya, Daddy" he said "Right on! Right on! Hotpants! Hotpants! Ugh...ugh...ugh". -kpq

Hi guys, Well, I really like Mark Knopfler (the lead singer of Dire Straits). He has some cool lyrics, especially in his solo albums like Golden Heart and Sailing to Philadelphia. Also, in most of his songs, he ends them with some cool guitar jamming. I wish they would release an album just with those guitar sessions! On song from Golden Heart is Done With Bonaparte. Here he speaks from a soldier's point of view who belongs to Napoleon's army. The song goes like this: We've paid in hell since Moscow burned As Cossacks tear us piece by piece Our dead are strewn a hundred leagues Though death would be a sweet release And our grande arm¨¦e is dressed in rags A frozen starving beggar band Like rats we steal each other's scraps Fall to fighting hand to hand Save my soul from evil, Lord And heal this soldier's heart I'll trust in thee to keep me, Lord I'm done with Bonaparte What dreams he made for us to dream Spanish skies, Egyptian sands The world was ours, we marched upon Our little Corporal's command And I lost an eye at Austerlitz The sabre slash yet gives me pain My one true love awaits me still The flower of the aquitaine Save my soul from evil, Lord And heal this soldier's heart I'll trust in thee to keep me, Lord I'm done with Bonaparte I pray for her who prays for me A safe return to my belle France We prayed these wars would end all wars In war we know is no romance And I pray our child will never see A little Corporal again Point toward a foreign shore Captivate the hearts of men Save my soul from evil, Lord And heal this soldier's heart I'll trust in thee to keep me, Lord I'm done with Bonaparte Do check him out. You won't regret it. -kpq
  18. Thanx for the reply. I am looking at Ubid for an RC3. I can see that Ubid is offering the KLF C7 for 250 - 300$. Would this center match my RP3s? Or should I just go for the RC3? Regards,
  19. Hi, I got a pair of awesome RP3s from Ubid. They sound great! I am a newbie into the great world for sound. And I am glad I started off with Klipsch. Got a few questions for the Klipsch gurus. I am planning to expand my setup to a proper 5.1 system. Right now, I have a stereo setup with the RP3s. My receiver is a Kenwwod VR-6070 (THX certified). Which speakers would you suggest for back surrounds and center channel? Please remember that I am a student and hence my budget is limited. I was thinking of going for the Quintets for back surround. Would that be a good option? For the center channel, I am pretty clueless. I know timber matching is gonna be pretty important in this. Which center channel would u guys suggest? The RC3 II? I checked out the RC3 prices and I found one for 216$ at CrazyEddie.com. Is this a good deal? I hope this doesn't sound too basic for u guys to answer :-). Anyway, I have become a Klipsch fan for life! Thanx.
