  1. See my post in the HT section for Chorus II's and C7 for trade....I should have said "for sale" too but I thought it goes without saying that cash is always a good trade! ------------------ My system(s): KLF-30's Bi-wired KLF-C7 (2) KSP-S6's (2 Pair) KSW-15 Front Sub KSW-100 Rear Sub Chorus II's Monster cable 14 gauge in-wall cable Audioquest interconnects Niles SPS-4 speaker switch box Niles wall plates Niles in-wall volume controls Marantz SR-8000 Toshiba SD-4205 5 DVD changer Pioneer PDF-1007 301-CD changer Mitsubishi 35" TV Mitsubishi VCR Pioneer VSX-608 Multi-room amp for Outdoor deck Polk All-weather AW2's deck speakers Panamax DBS-8 Surge Protector Klipsch IC-525's in Master Bath 13" Sony Wega in Master Bath 1 Lava Lamp for Ambience Fridge full of beer and plenty of Don Julio, Jagermeister and Jim Beam
  2. Well, as I have mentioned I am building a new HT in my basement and I have a pair of Chorus II's and a KLF-C7 that I would be willing to sell or trade for a pair of KLF-20's or 30's with a matching C7. Chorus II's each have 2-15" woofers and they sound beautiful. My Chorus II's/C7 are Oak and both are in excellent condition. I would prefer to have Mahogany or Black speakers to better match my theater and the rest of the woodwork. And the biggest reason I am wanting to sell/trade them is that the Chorus II's are too wide for the location they need to be in. I am doing a front projector and it will not allow me to get as big of a screen as I would like without interfering, whereas the KLF's are taller and thinner. Anyone interested?? I would be willing to drive as far as Chicago or Cleveland or some reasonable distance from Metro-Detroit to meet and do a deal. Shipping is not an option as these speakers weigh about 100 pounds each....true ball busters.....but they reek of the good old days of Classic Klipsch build quality. bloomis914@aol.com ------------------ My system(s): KLF-30's Bi-wired KLF-C7 (2) KSP-S6's (2 Pair) KSW-15 Front Sub KSW-100 Rear Sub Chorus II's Monster cable 14 gauge in-wall cable Audioquest interconnects Niles SPS-4 speaker switch box Niles wall plates Niles in-wall volume controls Marantz SR-8000 Toshiba SD-4205 5 DVD changer Pioneer PDF-1007 301-CD changer Mitsubishi 35" TV Mitsubishi VCR Pioneer VSX-608 Multi-room amp for Outdoor deck Polk All-weather AW2's deck speakers Panamax DBS-8 Surge Protector Klipsch IC-525's in Master Bath 13" Sony Wega in Master Bath 1 Lava Lamp for Ambience Fridge full of beer and plenty of Don Julio, Jagermeister and Jim Beam This message has been edited by BLOOMIS914 on 12-27-2001 at 03:26 AM
  3. I am building a Basement HT and want to have it setup for DD-EX and DTS-ES. I already have two pairs of KSP-S6's (1 pair in each HT room) and want to add a single center for the rear center channel in my new HT. I know this is a longshot, but what the heck. 4. Can someone please help me. I am building a new HT in my basement and am wiring now and want to know if I should use a single, center rear channel OR a pair of rear surrounds (left and right rears) for the back wall of my home theater. I want to accomodate both formats (DTS-ES and DD-EX) so common sense tells me I should wire a left and right rear channel on my rear wall..... Of course this is in addition to my basic 5.1 setup with current 5.1 surrounds to be mounted on side walls just behind seating position. Any comments or suggstions?? I will be using Klipsch Chorus II's, KLF-C7 and KSP-S6's with a KSW-15 and KSW-100 subs. I will also be buying a Front projector and have a 106" diagonal screen (52" x 92"). 5. OK, let's recap....I'm the guy that cleans his ears everyday with Q-tips and I swear I can almost get the the whole damn thing in there!!!! Anyway, can someone please help me with the step by step Hydrogen peroxide cleaning process?? Do I just lay on my side and pour in and let fizz for a minute or what?? As far as ear candles go, some guy at work pulled that crap with me and I just can't bear the thought of laying on my side with a lit candle in my ear and hot wax dripping down!! OUCH! Ear candles, yeah right...I'll stick with the DIY Q-tips...but I am interested in the Hydrogen peroxide process. ------------------ My system(s): KLF-30's Bi-wired KLF-C7 (2) KSP-S6's (2 Pair) KSW-15 Front Sub KSW-100 Rear Sub Chorus II's Monster cable 14 gauge in-wall cable Audioquest interconnects Niles SPS-4 speaker switch box Niles wall plates Niles in-wall volume controls Marantz SR-8000 Toshiba SD-4205 5 DVD changer Pioneer PDF-1007 301-CD changer Mitsubishi 35" TV Mitsubishi VCR Pioneer VSX-608 Multi-room amp for Outdoor deck Polk All-weather AW2's deck speakers Panamax DBS-8 Surge Protector Klipsch IC-525's in Master Bath 13" Sony Wega in Master Bath 1 Lava Lamp for Ambience Fridge full of beer and plenty of Don Julio, Jagermeister and Jim Beam

  8. OK Guys, I just built a new home and pre-wired everything and installed a pair of Klipsch IC-525's in my Master Bathroom Ceiling. These were the smallest in-ceiling speakers they made and are now discontinued I believe. But I couldn't be more pleased with the sound these things pump out. You can't go wrong IMO with their in-ceiling/wall products.......BUT to ask them to compare to floorstandings or bookshelfs is not realistic due to the lack of enclosure...The tradeoff is simple in-wall/ceiling speakers are designed for 1) background music or whole house audio and 2) where floorstanding or bookshelf speakers just aren't appropriate due to space or WAF. I would not use inwalls/ceiling speakers for an HT setup unless it was absolutely necessary...for obvious sound quality reasons. I have quite a few Klipsch products as you will see below and I love getting up everyday and jamming my MB speakers!! Highly recommend you guys building new houses pre-wire your master bathrooms and add a in-wall volume control and keep the receiver in your Master Bedroom and run the speaker B channel to the bath like I did...total cost for great tunes in my Master bath was less than $200 and a couple hours of thought and labor. 11. I am also running a KSW-15 up front between KLF-C7 Center and KLF-30 AND a KSW-100 for the rear KSP-S6's. The combination is awesome and the sub helps bring the bass on the rear surrounds. 16. Keith, Seb, Tom, Sal and Randy---You all could not be more right!!! I started my music fascination as a young kid with LP's and now have over 650 CD's and 40 DVD movies. Since when did it become a crime to love both formats (5.1, 6.1 0R GOD FORBID 7.1 and 2CH). I split my time between 2CH and HT (5.2 in my case with 2 powered subs!!) and am a very critical listener having grown up on LP's and being an early adopter of the CD format. We should all be thankful for the HT market as many of our beloved speaker manufacturers may find a tough go of it financially if they had to rely just on 2 ch "eccentric audiophiles" such as myself. Some people just don't grasp the joy that can be found sitting in the sweet spot of your system whether it be 2CH or 5CH. Just like many (not all) Harley riders don't wave to non-Harley riders----some just have an elitist attitude instead of accepting the fact that others have tastes and opinions also. WHEW! 17. bgarcia- As a very satisfied former Quintet system owner, I recall reading the manual and, in fact, they do have an internal high pass filter to prevent frequencies below 120 or 100 hz from damaging their smaller woofers. Anyway, I know they have a filter just don't remember exactly if it is 120 or 100hz.....You should be fine running LFE out from receiver to your sub and then running speaker wire direct from receiver to Quintets or you can run speaker level to sub inputs and then out to Quintets. Either way should work just fine. Does this help? Good luck. 18. Erik, I auditioned Marantz, Denon, Yamaha and Rotel and the Marantz sounded the best to me. I own the Marantz SR-8000 and auditioned the SR-19 but was a little too pricey for me. Marantz, IMO, provides the best 2CH sound as that is their focus, although the DD and DTS modes are awesome also. I never was a big fan of 5ch stereo but now I often use this mode for entertaining and just background listening and love it. Very warm, tube-like sound with all the added features of a A/V receiver. The masses prefer Denon and Yamaha but I personally found the Yamaha too bright with Klipsch and the Denon (3300 at the time) had some QC issues--fan noise and overheating. You will not be disappointed with the Marantz but let your ears decide. Good Luck. 19. Jfcarbel- I would not get too hung up on the specs for these 3 speakers. They are all excellent. Each has been designed to seamlessly go with the line it anchors down.....Heritage=Academy, Legends=C7 and Reference=RC series. For example, if HT is your concern I would be more focused on getting a GOOD sub that will allow you to run your mains, center and surrounds as SMALL (Cutoff at 70-120HZ depending on your receivers Bass Management settings.....but this is another topic completely. Anyhow I would use the center that was designed for the system at the time as I wrote above for the best match. What if the Ref. Center was a much better speaker and then drew attention to itself because it had a diferent tonal quality or unique sound??? Would you want that different sound going from left to right during panning in movies like Gone in 60 Seconds?? Not me....I would want the Klipsch expertise to provide the best match as designed by the Engineers. Also, it is much easier to sell speakers when you have the complete (or portion of) the complete set. Ask any Heritage owner. Good luck...I sent you a E-Mail on this subject also. ------------------ My system(s): KLF-30's Bi-wired KLF-C7 (2) KSP-S6's KSW-15 Front Sub KSW-100 Rear Sub Chorus II's Monster cable 14 gauge in-wall cable Audioquest interconnects Niles SPS-4 speaker switch box Niles wall plates Niles in-wall volume controls Marantz SR-8000 Toshiba SD-4205 5 DVD changer Pioneer PDF-1007 301-CD changer Mitsubishi 35" TV Mitsubishi VCR Pioneer VSX-608 Multi-room amp for Outdoor deck Polk All-weather AW2's deck speakers Panamax DBS-8 Surge Protector Klipsch IC-525's in Master Bath 13" Sony Wega in Master Bath 1 Lava Lamp for Ambience Fridge full of beer and plenty of Don Julio, Jagermeister and Jim Beam
  20. Well, one pair of KSP-S6's gone!!!! And now I am the proud owner of a perfect pair of Chorus II's (Oak) and a KLF-C7 (Oak). For the record, I gave up the S6's, the five piece Quintets and a pair of SS-.5's for the above. All speakers on both sides were virtually perfect and we both never opened our wallets!! Trade was with local BB member with a veritable Klipsch museum of great speakers!!! Anyhow, these Chorus II's are big boys!!!! about 90 pounds each and I could barely fit both in my car....They sounded beautiful with some good Jazz piano playing during demo. 25. OK Guys, I surrender.....I might be a little optimistic to fetch $750-800 for a pair of brand new KSP-S6's BUT there are people on a mission to complete their Legend or Synergy system.
