  1. What's the replacement cost for a pr of Heresy woofers? SSH
  2. Steve, It's been a long time since I heard Corns; that would be great. It's a pretty easy drive from Ruston. I used to run between El Dorado & Ruston a lot. See you in Scott. SSH
  3. Max, Thanks for sharing that. My 10th grade English classes started group projects for Julius Caesar_ yesterday, & the group changes were like loud musical chairs. Several became a group of one. SSH
  4. Craig, It's about 625 mi. from Cincinnati. I can't find "Twilight Zone" on Map Quest LOL. SSH
  5. So, Dee, Are we going to hear Klipsch next door? That will be awesome, my friend. Guys, this alone would be worth the price of a plane ticket! SSH
  6. I' bringing JFL 2A3 monoblocks, a Cary SLP-2002 pre, & an appetite. SSH
  7. Definite. I'll bring the JFL 2A3 monoblocks & Cary SLP 2002 pre. SSH
  8. Chuckears, You are right-on when you say that differences are nil with many set-ups. It's typical of forum members to introduce flames where others are are simply attempting to find out more from the experiences of other Klipsers. For example, I bought a pr of patchchords for $350, including shipping, that are long enough to cut into two pairs, & I get flamed for spending too much. Thanks, Chuck. I've gotten emails from members who don't want to post, but who have good information. That's why I started the thread in the first place. SSH
  9. arto, I'm surprised at you. This thread is about wanting to know other's experiences, & has nothing whatsoever to do with justifing anything. SSH
  10. Thanks, Danny. My experience confirms your own. I'm interested in your experience, not the flames of others. SSH
  11. Danny, What wire do you use, & what did you use before? SSH
  12. TBrennan, You can call it wire, but that doesn't negate the difference in detail. Some wire sounds different, & with some, the difference is better. Yes, & yes. SSH
  13. I recently upgraded the interconnects between the JFL 2A3 monoblocks & Cary SLP 2002 pre. They feed my Khorns. I was using Monster M 1000i & now have Sigma Retro Gold. I was hoping for a noticable improvement, & got more than expected. The same could be said for the previous upgrade to the Ms. Now I'm wondering how much better I might like another type of cable (ie. silver). The SRGs are much cleaner sounding, more detailed. I told Jeff that it is like a great tube roll. In this way, they are not just different, but better sounding, as more of the music detail is actually audible. What interconnects have/do you used/use? What improvements did you hear? SSH
  14. Dee, They had a Khorn/Mac setup that was fine. SSH
  15. Bose used to sell new 901s with a new processor at a replacement cost. I sent them mine & they replaced the series 4s with a newer series for $300. That was a few years ago. SSH
  16. m00n, When I used 3 RC7s in a 7.1, I gained a lot of respect for them. My RS7s were the first to go. Dropping them, or tilting them (that's what I did, with Omnimounts)is a definite improvement. And the directionality is fine, as long as they are properly pointed. They way outclass the RSs IMHO. Good move to those, I think. SSH
  17. That's awesome, Ed. Congratulations. SSH
  18. Welcome to the forum, & thanks for sharing your story. Bittersweet day, but lots of time to play. SSH
  19. Dee, That's a great date. The gear list looks like a full day's fun. I just scored a pr of Monster Cable Sigma Retro Gold interconnects that I'll bring. I got them yesterday & hooked them up while in the middle of a reply to an email from Jeff (He's anxious to get his Khorns.). I told him that I felt like I was hearing a great tube roll. It was $ well spent. I'm looking forward to being back at your spot at Scott. SSH
  20. Erik, I took Jeff Lessard's advice & got a pr, & it was a huge jump in sound quality. They're worth every penny, IMHO. Good move, Dee. SSH
  21. John, If I go with the JBL tweeter, do I need to make any modifications, since I use the ALK xover? SSH
  22. So, m00n wants the source! Moon, you already have the tool, LOL. SSH
  23. Guy, Give us the lowdown. They are beautiful. SSH
  24. Your source will give you a significant improvement. I recommend a quality multi-player. SSH
  25. John, I have been interested in the tweeter change that Al K made & posted, but would be interested in the JBL if it is a further improvement. Would the same, or some other xover changes need to be made to run the JBL with ALKs in a Khorn? SSH
