  1. That is good Seals need to scuba. I saw that special on National Geographic. It was terrible they come up out of that hole in the ice and WHACK.... Seal burgers for some big bear. Seti you are just not normal....[Y] Michael your probably right about the Seals.
  2. There is no thread, when it's done and working i was going to make one. I will explain, I built them myself, copied from a pair I have in my workshop, the horns are k402 horns. The cabinets are MWM singles, so I need 4 15" drivers from Bob Crites a pre amp and an amp to power 4 separate channels I already have an EV dxv38 for the crossover. It's a 2 ch project that's about 1/2 way done as far as money goes. I don't collect equipment like many here do so when this was started I knew I would need an amp and pre amp, nothing laying around unused. Any particular questions just ask, it's not like I am trying to hide it. [A] I just didn't want to make thread on it's own without even being able to hear them yet to answer questions. Mark 1101 has the MWM/ 402 horn at his home in Georgia, that's who I got my pair of MWM bins from for the workshop, about a year ago I guess. I got to listen to his, they sound really good and really BIG. [Y]
  3. Where has he been, he must be busy or aliens finally got him, OR is he an Alien ?
  4. There are a couple of people here who have Emotiva, I don't think you can find a better deal especially considering their warranty and price, they appear to be well made and have good reviews. I want the XPA 5 and the Pre amp for 2 Ch biamping, which is sold out and being updated to a newer design, I hope they finish redesigning and have them for sale soon.
  5. Nice going, LaScalas are one of my favorites even though I don't have any.
  6. What I did when I was in the same position as you was another pair of F ll's, mostly because they cost about the same as an Academy ! Then another pair to make 6.1, sounds great.
  7. Walnut veneer, I would guess and I have know idea about the front mounted speakers, Michael would know the history. I would guess when they made the back sealed is when it was changed the drivers to be mounted from the outside, whenever that was ?
  8. I just read that before I came here, she should be tortured, jail is to good for her
  9. I would think so also, they are built like fine furniture. I think it will look nice in your room because it would kind of balance the wall off instead of a big TV and stand in the center with skinny speakers the bigger speakers on the outside will look nice. Just a guess ? Also easier sound wise. Hey I just remembered, want to see how the Cornwall lll's are built by hand in Hope AR...click " small pic's" http://www.cyclonecj.com/dtel/dtel.htm
  10. I would say something a little wider than 3 Cornwalls and 4' deep and 18'' taller than the Cornwalls, each channel. [Y]
  11. Also find yourself a nice sub, it will make a world of difference.
  12. What is my everyday usage speakers are huge ? [] We need to come up with a standard..................this should take a while ! [8-)] Madsopp, we are just playing around on your thread, you have plenty of time before your speakers are built and shipped halfway around the world.....sorry....but it will be worth the wait, see another day passed already ! [:$]
  13. Well maby those and one pair of your industrial LaScalas, I know you love those also.
  14. His mother may have found out he had actually did steal your stuff and made him do the right thing ? To me that would be more likely than just his change of heart, but you never know, hopefully they both benefit from this. Glad your stuff has returned, the worst part is thinking someone you invited into your home would do something like that.
  15. That looks really nice, it must be an optical illusion it looks twice as tall on the bench, it must be the angle. Looks great on the wall.
  16. That's funny and true, you don't know how bad something is until you hear much better. He still has a long way to go adjusting and moving things around, it's still early it will get even better for him.
  17. To bad it is just an I pod, if it was also a phone you could start leaving anonymous and very disturbing massages ! [:#]
  18. Madsopp, on Michaels scale of size Cornwalls are not quite halfway up the scale, he has midbass and midrange cabinets that are almost that size. []
  19. I don't know how you do it, every time i have ever tried to use any of those things I make a bigger mess of the picture and end up not making the changes. I do like the slight shadow in that picture.
  20. Joe I am sorry for jumping on your thread like this, I thought about it after it was done, sorry. I had your attention so I thought i would ask what you thought, without thinking what I was doing. erased If i ever make more stands I will use the three pipes i think it looks much better, I had seen some like that but instead of pipes it was like 1'' by 3'' boards and it didn't look that sturdy, but it probably was.
  21. I just cut them out of wood and routed the end to make it round, there is a round piece of wood inside the pipe screwed to the pipe. The base is just glued and screwed to the piece inside the pipe. They have been sitting in the workshop, they were on there way out when I thought about cutting one down to see how it looked, they were a little taller when they were on the floor. I put it inside yesterday and I don't know if I like it or not ? I never even tried it yet to see if it even sounds ok, also haven't checked with the boss.
  22. Looking at that room ( looks great ) the Cornwalls are going to be unbelievable with that layout ! Might have to slide everything down to get that right Cornwall in there, nice looking room . [H] That wall will be full. []
