  1. Kidding? I've done something similar for years! ;-) LOL.. because its true. Jeff Foxworthy's new act "You know you're a Kipsch fan when...". I'm still using J/K as my alibi.
  2. Follow the below listed immediate action procedures: 1. Go to your local best buy 2. Find Klipsch related product area and ask for a demo (the context of your visit is on a need to know basis) 3. Identify deficiencies in the display set-up 5. Ask to spend "audition" time with the speakers, they will let you. 6. Fix deficiencies via "tinkering" during the "audition". 7. Come back once a month to ensure a competing speaker brand didn't "tinker" with them during their "audition"...if so re-audition by you may be necessary. 8. If you are not 100% certain what you are doing, stop and seek further advice on this forum Note: You and I are not Klipsch employees and are acting on our own recognizance; thus making this whole shabootle comletely legal. J/K - Just Kidding
  3. Bill, I see you soaked up a fair share of information as well; there was a lot of knowledge to be gained--philosophies from so many areas of the organization. This weekend really was the "Ultimate Sound Experience".
  4. I respect your opinion; it is obviously something you feel strongly about. My opinion is that Klipsch most likely took into consideration the truth that some people would, atleast initially, feel that way..any time rapid growth occurs, the "growing pains" are amplified. In a world market, Klipsch has been proactive in adapting to chage. Whether one likes like it or not, the world market and ecommerce are here and they are not going away. Klipsch took the initiative as the situation demanded and has implemented a very aggressive marketing plan for the consumer and company to benefit from. Your statement "...the cheap made in China Crap" are your feelings and have manifested into words; but please rest assured that major US production/manufacturing practices have Quality Control (QC) programs in place to ensure units are within spec--regardless of where they are manufactured. Klipsch offers product at Best buy and, according to your article, soon to be Circuit City because they understand not everyone wants to purchase from a specialty retailer. At the same time Klipsch has product at specialty retailers because, like yourself, they know people want more than what big box retailers have to offer. It is a real achievement for Klipsch to consistantly offer the best product at a given price point. Whether it be a pair of quintets or a pair of Palladium P-39F you get what you pay for; and if its a klipsch driven product, you get a whole lot.
  5. Correction; although the piece was arranged by John Williams, the violin and piano was off the a Marty Goetz album.
  6. I guess the term "revealing speakers" really will make good recordings sound good and bad recordings sound, well, exactly how they were recorded It was pleasing to enjoy to music through these speakers with good company. The piano and violin piece was composed by John Williams for the Theme from Schindler's List.
  7. Congradulations Travis, that was pure joy on your face, I'm sure you'll enjoy
  8. Oddly enough the review turned out to be the same for the Palladium P-39.
  9. To the entire Klipsch organization and community; thank you for allowing the an event of this nature to manifest into reality. Hands down to Trey, Amy, Mark, Steve, Jim, KG and the rest of the Klipsch Staff for dedicating their time and effort into the set-up, execution, and I'm sure "clean-up" processes; there was never a dull moment. Roger, thanks for opening your home and being a wonderful host, Flight of the Phoenix really allowed Michael's LF coffin to let loose the feeling, not hearing, of low frequency effects. Larry, the music appreciation class was informative and enjoyable, thank you. This weekend was, without a doubt, time very well spent. It was fantastic to meet all the other "pilgrims" who were there this weekend--GO KLIPSCH! -Pat
  10. Thank you for the welcome, I will be there after the classes/clinics at Klipsch. Anyone needs a ride I can fit myself plus four addidtional. The pilgrimimage really seems to be growing from what I've read over the past few years. Thank you, and see ya'll soon.
  11. Sounds great! I'm driving over from northern Kentucky and will have some open seats for whomever will be going to your place.
  12. To all who know, may think they know, or just have an opinion; now that RB-35s have been around long enough to be discontinued (and thoroughly experienced in house) what were the pros and cons compared to rb-5/5II? Which one did you prefer?
  13. Yeah, its been a wild ride, but very fun. The Synergy HT sounded great together, the problem was I had this KLF-C7 sitting around collecting dust. So I was compelled to do what any self respecting audio enthusiast would do and upgrade to match his best owned speaker. In came the legends; and they sounded great individually, but ultimately did not win me over with their "whole package" HT performance. Anyhow the RF-83 were very nice, the problem is it waould have been years, if ever to move from 2.0 to 5.1; those are expensive pieces of equipment. With the lower end models 5.1 is attainable. Looking forward to Indy though.
  14. Bill, "Just enjoy and relax." --thats been the battle from time to time. From KSF-10.5 to KLF-20 to "a couple different brands here and there" to RF-83/RB-35......now RB-15. Klipsch are so good at holding their value its bitter sweat. For example, I've always got back/come out a bit ahead when switching speakers, that alone prompts my curiosity about other models; I just keep buying, selling, buying, selling etc. RB-15 are good price/performance speakers and I don't feel I would need to go beyond say a pair of low profile speakers with no more than 5.25/6.5 inch drivers (decor, price/performance/etc). Is that odd?
  15. Has anyone had any experience with the rf-15s? This audio roller coaster has left me sitting solely now with a single pair of RB-15; actually I find the sound quite pleasing. Anyhow, I am curious to know what you like or dislike about the RF-15s. Thanks -Pat
  16. Lamenology (is that even a word)? In lamens/lamans/lamenz terms, however you darn spell it, how well to all the components that make up a subwoofer work togethert? Watts are relative; domestic vs. import battle during the 90s........its not always about raw horsepower
  17. Dual klf-c7 or a pair of klf-10s/20s? KSP-S6 do sound good, but even then they are still from a different line (synergy premiere).
  18. Can you audition the the uni-theater? I havent heard mirage for quite a few years, so keep in mind models differ. Prior to my first klipsch 5.1 set-up in the late 90's (synergy) I auditioned the FRX-7 (floor standing), frx-5/3 (Bookshelves), om-5/7/9 (top of their line floor standing), frx-s12 (sub), and avs-500 with frx-s8 5.1 sub sat system. I was imressed with the OM-5 and OM-9, AVS was tolerable. I almost dropped the cash for the OM-5 (dual powered 8 inch subs) after hearing metallica live. Anyhow, back to the point, I have heard good reviews on the current mirage products....try and take a listen; it will quell your curiosity.
  19. Laughin' because I had checked my profile to see if I accidentally listed my name as "David", then I realized your name is David......I was a bit slow realizing what Bill was getting at.
  20. Ha! I just got that....................... _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _- David, not _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ David
  21. My first complete HT consisted of the Synergy series KSF 10.5, KSF C-5, KSF-S5, and a KSW 12. Before I go any further, let me explain that my second system consisted of Legend and Premier series KLF-20, KLF-C7, KSP-S6, and a KSW-12. As individual speakers the Legend/Premier set-up was a cut above the Synergy. However, as a whole, working in conjunction with eachother, the synergy gave me a more pleasurable listening experience. The sound was more consistent among speakers. You asked, so here is my opinion: I feel the KSF-S5 would be a better option--timbre match. I know the ksb-3.1 HF driver is composed differently (silk), unsure of the 1.1 let us know how it goes either way.
