  1. Since I'm getting no takers on the whole system, I will consider offers on the individual components. Feel free to PM me with offers.
  2. True. I had St. Louis on my mind when I offered that. Maybe we can network with some other members to make this happen. What pieces were you interested in?
  3. Scrappydue, I will consider shipping if I get no local bites. I would have to take them somewhere and have them professionally packed. I would meet in Jackson, MS maybe if that helped.
  4. Love my new tv. Hate the tiny speakers on the back, so I took my unused Promedia 2.1 and connected them to my tv via the analog rca outputs with an rca to 3.5mm adapter. Great sound, but when I turn off the the tv, there is a faint, tolerable pop. When I turn the tv back on there is a LOUD, intolerable pop. What might cause this? I pulled the Bose 321 from my bedroom and connected it and get the same pop, so I know its in the tv and not the Promedia 2.1's. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  5. I have decided to simplify my HT and use my Denon AVR-3805 rreceiver to power my system and sell my Parasound separates to fund some new recliners to enjoy the HT in. I have for sale: Parasound 7100 7.1 surround controller (no remote, used my Harmony 650) with manual Parasound 5125 5 x 125 watt power amplifier with owner's manual Parasound Zhd HDMI switch 5 into 1 with remote (connects to the 7100) Asking $1000 or best cash offer for all 3. These are in excellent condition (8 or 9 out of 10) Also selling my Sony DVP-s9000ES DVD/SACD player with remote. Works and sounds great, been using as a cd player. Drawer opens and closes slowly. Not sure how fast it should open.Asking $150 obo. I will take some photos when I get home this evening and post them. Please PM or email me with questions. I would prefer local pickup or meet within a reasonable distance from Biloxi, MS.
  6. It this unit still for sale?
  7. Where are you located? Shipping estimate to 39565.
  8. Came across this driver in a hand made cabinet in a thrift store. It appears to be a 12" full range speaker with a 12" woofer with a 3" tweeter in the center. Please help. Thanks.
  9. I have used AVG free for the last few years. 0 troubles.
  10. Either of those would be a good start. Harman Kardon, Yamaha, and Denon are well thought of around here as well. Welcome to the forum.
  11. I have had KHO-7's by my pool for a couple of years. They are loud enough to be heard over the pool pump. I don't think you'll be disappointed. I'm using an older Pioneer pro-logic receiver in stereo mode for power.
  12. I second the kg 3.2 suggestion. They are large for bookshelf speakers, but excellent bass response.
  13. I would keep the klf-10's and give him everything else. A win-win scenario.

    Forte

If you have a blown woofer or midrange, I have spares that I would sell. If you love your Fortes, it would likely be cheaper to freshen them up than buy new speakers.
  15. The Parasound HCA-1000A is a nice, slim 2 channel amp. My first separate amp.
  16. First of all, welcome. Not sure the Sony is up to your challenge. You might want to consider a higher end receiver, or even separates for the best sound. If you like ear bleed volume, then more (and cleaner) power is what you need. Most receivers actual power is nowhere near the advertised power rating. I went to a separate amp that puts out a true 125w. Does your sony have preamp outs? If so, you can add a separate amplifier to it. Not sure about the Denon. Model numbers of what you have would help. Even if your rear speakers are connected as surrounds, your receiver should offer 5 or 7 channel stereo which will give equal power to all speakers in your system. Happy listening. I'm sure more will chime in. Lots of good advice to be found here.
  17. Yes, it will work fine. I have used almost the same setup (Forte II) for years with no urge to change. Enjoy!
  18. Yes, with the fronts to the floor and the tops removed. I believe I laid them sideways in my 02 Tahoe several years ago.
  19. Bump. Reasonable offers are welcome.
  20. 2 things you could do with the Bose 201's. 1. Sell them to pay for some Klipsch surrounds or center. or 2. Use them as your surrounds, as matching surround speakers is not as critical as the front 3. I like the B3, C2, B2 combo if it fits your budget. Get the biggest center that you can (that matches the b series). Most of your movie sound will come from the center. Never skimp on the center, and the B@ is the biggest matching center. Second choice (more budget friendly) B2, C2, Bose 201(surrounds). Good luck, and enjoy.
