  2. Here's a quick guide for you... Your TV is between 1.85:1 and 1.33:1. Actually, if I remember correctly from my modern cinema class, there are two more even wider aspect ratios, although they're rarely ever used.
  3. Yeah I'm having some problems as well...
  4. Divin, also remember that generally the only people to really speak up are those with problems. Heck, I own three RSW-15s and have yet to have a problem with any of them. But it looks like you're getting a helluva deal.
  5. What's the price and do you have any photos?
  6. Very few people have that particular speaker I believe but many of us do know how it operates... If you have any questions, just post them here.
  7. I'd have to say my favorite site is fark.com. It's basically a site that deals out unique and interesting news stories from all over the web, not to mention a nice collection of photoshop threads.
  8. I also liked it... A little far fetched, yes, but who cares... that's what movies are all about (And Jill Valentine is one sexy lady)
  9. Do you just want a monoblock amplifier that only powers your center channel? Also, the RW-10 has an internal amp designed to drive the woofer to it's limits essentially... I don't believe there would be any benefit to powering the RW-12 with an external amp.
  10. Congrats Klipsch... I'm really liking the product diversity the company has going now (trying to fill in all the gaps).
  11. Well, a quick update on the situation. We never recieved the TV that was supposed to arrive on Sunday, gave them a call today and was told, and I quote, "Oh, we're sorry. We can't deliver to that location. There must've been some communication problem between the manager and the salesman. You can come pick it up if you'd like." Great. Well, screw BB from here on out. We cancelled the order on the TV and I believe I'm only going to be dealing through specialty stores from here on out. Besides, I'd feel better knowing the money was going to a smaller privately owned shop rather than a large conglamorate. I'm not saying that all stores are like that, but so help me I'm never setting foot in that store again.
  12. Yeah, "reliable sources" have stated that Halo 2.5 is going to be a launch title for Xbox 2... But then again, this is still an unconfirmed rumor.
  13. Check out The Hot Deals Club for internet deals.
  14. How about some Quintet satellites? I think they're only like $500 or $600 for the set which leaves plenty of room for purchasing a reciever. They don't sound "awesome" by your normal Klipsch standards, but they aren't bad either... they'll blow pretty much any HTIB out of the water.

They'll be better as mains in the interim, and sound quite good as surrounds. ---------------- That's a hair bit more than we want to spend on surrounds... But anyway, I think we've decided on some RB-75s and just let the RSW take care of the bottom end.
  16. Hmmm... that actually works really well. Thumbs up for that find.
  17. As many of you may have read, our TV is coming tomorrow so in celebration of this event, I'm helping my dad start the surround system. Klipsch reference is a given. My plan is to purchase what will eventually be used as surrounds and use them as mains until we can add more elements. Here's my question. Which would be better for side surround duty: an RB-75 or an RF-35? The final system layout will be RF-7 mains, RC-7 center and rear and an RSW-15 (which we also already have).

Bose ARE as good as Klipsch. There are no perfect speakers, it's all about preference. If somebody likes Bose it's no skin off your ***. Unless you feel insecure with your own tastes and need to boost yourself by tearing others down. As for salesmen at Best Buy; all they need do is be competent to take my money. I decide what I want to buy. ---------------- Yes it all does come down to preference... However, they earn their ridicule not because of the sound, but due to the fact that they use $20 drivers, plastic enclosures and small amps then charge a buttload of money for them. No offense to the people who like them, it's just what I see as sleazy business practices (i.e. trying to screw the little guy.

They would be told to push the $40 gold pinned printer cables over the $5-$10 ones. Why....so the data would travel faster. Sadly, people usually believed it. ---------------- All I can say is just wow... Seriously though sometimes I wonder if these guys are just trying to make a sale or they just eat the crap that is fed to them. I think I remember hearing that Best Buy employees don't make any kind of commission so I can't help but wonder what incentive is driving them to move those Monster cables unless they actually believe it. Oh well, to the credit of Monster though the DVI cable's outer jacket feels like it could be fed into a lawnmower and not get cut...
  21. Word on the street is that the Nvidia SoundStorm is great for gaming. It is the only sound card on the market right now that does on the fly DD 5.1 encoding. You can only get this as an on-board audio option, but there are a lot of great boards that carry it (the Abit NF-7s being the one I have put in a few machines).
