  2. I currently own the R-41 PM and would like to know what’s the difference between these two subwoofers, which is ideal for me and what should I be thinking about when picking either one of these subwoofers. I listen to them in a small room and use USB audio. Currently I only use them for music but in the future may want to have the option of using this 2ch setup and subwoofer for movies. I’m also open to other Brand’s if they are better suited. thanks in advance. Cheers Yash
  3. Hello everyone! I am new to the forum. I've had my speakers for a while but never installed a sub. I finally got to add the sub, so now I want to fine tune it to get the best experience when watching movies. I don't know much about setting, crossover, etc. hence my post here. Here is my setup: -Receiver: Onkyo TX-NR-636 -Center: RP-250C -Front: RF-62 II -Surround: RP-240S -Sub: R-12 SW What would be the ideal parameters for this system?
  4. So a co-worker tricked me into entering to money pit that is high end audio equipment a couple months ago, and unfortunately I'm getting hungrier and hungrier for upgrades everyday. It all started with him selling me his Heresy III's (he built himself some amazing La Scala clones) and I started slow on the equipment. I grabbed a decent turntable (Pro-ject debut carbon EVO) as vinyl was my main focus initially, and then settled for an Emotiva TA-100 to put it all together. Within a week I had ordered an Emotiva 8" subwoofer to help fill out the low end, but it's not exactly filling the void as I'd hoped. I've spiraled uncontrollably since then, and now the set up has removed the TA-100 for a Schiit Mani and a PrimaLuna Dialogue Premium Integrated. I just added a Bluesound Node 2i for Tidal streaming, and now I feel like the sub is a real weak link. The Heresy III's sound amazing solo, but without a sub I feel like I'm definitely missing something on the low end, but the Emotiva sub - though warm in tone and surprisingly fast- just doesn't fill the void properly. Does anyone have experience with similar equipment that has a good recommendation for a fitting sub? I'd prefer to not spend more than about $500 if possible - but if there's a specific sub that you know would fit this system perfectly I'd be open to any recommendations. I'd really prefer to find the right sub to balance everything out so I could start focusing on actually listening to the music and quit focusing on what else I need. Also, all RCA's are from Mogami and the speaker wires are Audioquest Rocket 44's Thanks in advance, -Dom Pro-Ject Debut Carbon EVO -> Schiit Mani / Bluesound Node 2i -> PrimaLuna Dialogue Premium Integrated -> Klipsch Heresy III's

  6. Hello, Good Afternoon! Newbie question. I came across this bundle package and wanted to get opinion about the Yamaha A3080 . or would it be better to go with Denon 2020 models such as 4700h or 6700h? https://www.adorama.com/kp1065792k2.html?emailprice=t I am planning to use this in a living room setup where the center channel will go up on the fireplace mantle. Please suggest. Thanks for your time and help
  7. I am new to the HiFi audio scene and have been looking for an amp/preamp combo or integrated amp to replace my old Pioneer VSX-D508 reciever for a 2 channel Klipsch Heresy 1 setup (music only, no movies). I am looking for something under $250 if possible. I have had the Nobsound MS-10D MKII recommended, but have seen very mixed opinions on that, and was wondering if anyone here has had any experience with one. I also am not sure whether to try to go with tube amplifiers or solid state amps. Thanks in advance!
  8. I recently inherited a set of Heresy 1s from my dad, and am pretty new to the hifi audio scene. I am looking for a solid budget amp to run them (Somewhere in the $200-$350 range). I am currently using an old pioneer reciever and would like an upgrade. Also if there is any other advice for the Heresy 1s that might be good for me to know, I would appreciate it. Thanks in advance.
  9. I can't believe I am posting here... but this is all an accident.... I just bought a pair of Forte II by mistake. And I didn't even know there was a company called "Klipsch" till a few days before I bought them. ( Still don't know how to say it) Oh man… after years of not listening to music on a decent stereo I am enjoying music at level I didn’t know was possible: spine tingling, gut warming, waves of warm colored sound blanketing me. So for the last 14 years the best audio I had was some sound bar with 3in speakers and a sub. I was becoming so frustrated with tiny sound. So I decided to try and match the mid-fi (lo fi?) High School system I had from 1976-2001 (KLH 3 way with speakers about 2ft high with a Harmon Kardon 50w per channel I think) I went to Best Buy, I felt too cheap to drop over $600 on tower speakers and the cheaper ones sucked. So I got some decent bookshelf speakers. Klipsch M15 they were good. They sounded clear and I heard elements I hadn’t heard. But I wanted something I could FEEL like I remember with my old floor standing speakers. So I looked on Craigslist. I saw a pair of big speakers that in the picture looked about the same size as my 1970 KLHs. They were listed a Klipsch KG4 for $270. I looked them up and they seemed like okay speakers and the same size as my old High School KLHs. I went to the sellers house. The speakers seemed bigger than they should be. But they were comply pristine. Then I listen to them and I was listening for flaws and didn't really find any. I was going to listen for a while and analyse everything, but then I got chills down my spine (listening to Electrelane) which the expensive Best Buy speakers hadn't done. So I said SOLD! BUT when I got them home I realized something was WRONG! 67 lbs each! (I knew they seemed heavier than 45lbs) 35 tall by 16 wide by 12 deep... These aren't KG4s! After some research I found out they were these things called Forte IIs and these weird people called audiophiles seemed to think they were good. So here I am it's near 2:00 am and I am being enveloped in a whole warm colourful wall of dynamic alive multidimensional sound even at low volumes. I am sitting and listening to music for the first time in decades... but it's never been like this. Rehearing old music opening to new music. New categories of music, piano, sitar, even pop! OMG can't beleive I have been missing this. I didn't know what a sound stage was now I have one. It's a new world. Oh no am I an accidental Audiophile because of a in accurate Craigslist post? So what do you all think? Should I demand my money back?
  10. Hello everyone, I am somewhat new to the home theater world so please pardon some of my ignorance. During recent sale at adorama, I bought a pair of RP-280f (mains), RP-450c (center). I also bought RP-160m as part of that bundle but they are too big for rear speakers so I am planning to sell those and get the rp series surround speakers at a later date (maybe next year). i (will be) using the speakers 60-70% of the time for music. Considering that, what receiver do you recommend for my speakers (Rp-280f, RP-450c). My living room is probably around 20 ft wide, 16 ft long (bot no wall at the back so if I add the kitchen, it is probably 26 ft long). I am hoping to spend around $900 for receiver. Let me know what you guys recommend. I looked at Denon AVR-X3300W which seemed like a good option from my limited knowledge. I don't plan to blow up the speakers so i thought I don't need to match the 150W of rp-280f. Or will I damage with a receiver that has 100-125W (at 8 ohms) per channel? Also I have been told that cables are a big deal so I need to get good quality cables. Do you have any recommendation for those (including any websites)? Dumb question but do I also need banana plugs? I really appreciate y'all taking time and replying to my questions. Thanks!!!!
  11. Hi everyone, So my friend who is moving overseas has gifted me his old Klipsch floor standing RF - 35's after years of making fun of my Yamaha HS5's.... While this might be basic knowledge on these forums, this is the first time that I have owned passive speakers so I literally have no idea what I'm looking for in an amplifier. The speakers will be used solely to play vinyl records off of 2 X Technic SL1200 record players that are already hooked up to a Pioneer DJM400 mixer (I believe this acts as a preamp?) in my living room. Friends have been telling me that i should invest in a valve/tube amplifier as it will best bring out that vinyl sound - whilst other people have been telling me I should go solid state as it will be more affordable and it will help bring out the bass in the RF35's which can sound too bright(?). Any advice, guidance, recommendations from some seasoned audio/klipsch veterans would be genuinely appreciated and welcomed :).
  12. Hello I'm totally new to this, and i want to upgrade my music system. I'm planning on getting 2 R-24fs for my living room (14x13 ft) and a pair of R-15m's or a pair of R-14m's my bed/study room (12x11 ft). I know it might a bit overkill for such a small space, but I'm planning on having these for a while and eventually adding a sub-woofer once i get into a more spacey living situation (and more $). Now my question is. what would be a good receiver/amp, and which would be better for me to get (receiver or amp). I would get them for the sole purpose of listening to music for now. Any comments or ideas on the setup are welcome since i'm a total newb and have no idea what i'm doing. Thanks in advance Edit1: Is a Pioneer 5.1 Channel Reciever VSX-524-K good?
  13. This is my first post in the forum. But at the least I can say that I have actually read through almost the entire Home Theater forum, and then the subwoofer forum in order to learn the basics as best as I can and understand what people like, why, and at least not seem like a complete idiot here. I have 2 things I'd like help with. The first is my home theater setup. I have attached 2 quick pictures here, obviously not a lot of time taken on them but enough I hope to give an idea. The other question I have I'll post separate so as not to muddy things up. The room itself is a rectangle, with the front by the windows being hexagonal (3 sides in the front), so there is a bit of a breakup of the room. The width is about 12.5', and the length roughly 25'. Hardwood floors with a big area rug underneath the entire home theater area up to the couch. Behind that is the dining table. One picture shows a shot towards the front, the other from the front to the back. There's a nice Vizio 4K TV centered exactly with an RP-250C center channel tucked in nicely (but with some room above and behind). I originally had a R25C and bought the RP250C when it went on sale...the difference was about $30 and the lower end of the RP250C better matched crossing over below 100 (I think the R25C low end is 82hz, the 250C is 62). Listening for all of 1 minute told me which was better beyond the specs themselves. To each side is an R-28F (not the RP280F...the R28Fs were 1/2 price for black friday, this is my first system so it was a good size expense for me still). Behind the right yellow chair by the window is an R10SW, sitting on a entry carpet doubled over. Before it was on the carpet it was boomy...once on the carpet it seemed to remove any vibration going through the wood floor). The sub is pointed along the window line...driver pointed at right R28F, port plenty of room firing towards behind the TV. This position seems to have made locating the sub difficult from the couch. Mounted HIGH up on the walls are R15Ms. I mounted them myself, wired it along the crown molding. They are that high because I wanted them above people walking around the room...a 6'6" person (I know a few) can walk under these as they are set with the bottom of the speaker at 84". The stud was there so I used Videosecu mounts. The only other option I had position-wise was about 5 or 6 feet back. I strongly considered that but thought it was too far behind the listening area...and if using a multichannel music for parties...the position was more central. I have these pointing roughly at each other, but down the 7 degrees the mounts allow. AND, in an effort to get the high frequencies down to the listening areas, mounted the bookshelves upside down (tweeters on bottom). The back surround channels are some M&K SX4s gifted from a good friend. They are amazingly powerful, have 2 5" drivers and 2 tweeters each. They are located on a display case, about 6 feet off the ground, tilted slightly forward to move the treble into the listening area as best as possible with minimal angle (I might guess, 15degrees?) All this is driven by a Sony STR-DH750, 1050 total watts (lol maybe, I guess based upon everything I read here and elsewhere). I run the auto calibration on it, and find that it's decent. Because the surround channels are high up, I definitely notice it doesn't sound the same as when they were at ear level or just above (on shelves). So I overrode the calibration a bit from 0/+0.5db increase to about 4db more than that. At that point the surround came in much better. Crossovers are 60 for the front (I found bass sounded better than 70 or 80), 70 for the center, and 80 for the surround (r15ms could do 70 too, but the M&Ks I believe were THX designed to not go below 80). I hope that's a good description, and not too much or little for some help. I realize having been through this whole forum that there are a world of other speaker options available to me, and over time I can certainly see myself upgrading the fronts and the bookshelves (which I guess is exactly what Klipsch hopes too). But for me these are incredible already, so much better than what I had before. Thoughts, ideas, tips regarding my setup? Especially those surrounds mounted on the wall...should I experiment more with moving the couch forward and back? If I end up increasing the db on the surrounds, is it better at some point instead of say going up 4 or 4.5db, to decrease the fronts 1 or 2 and "average" out the difference (i.e., instead of FL 0, FR 0, LS +4, RS +4....FL-2, FR -2, LS+2, RS+2)? Can I remount these if needed? Not now, but down the road. This is it for now, but the fronts and back surrounds can be moved no problem. I can though rotate and angle the side surrounds anyway I like (up/down 7 degrees, rotate 360). All help and criticism is appreciated.
  14. Hello, I've been hearing a lot about tubes and how good they work with klipsch speakers. If something wouldn't mind explaining what is a tube amp and how does it work compared to an AV receiver(which I have now) powering my kg4's. I'm really interesting in knowing so I can buy something good and know how it works. I'm pretty clueless honestly. Can I use for home theater?
