Frank1938
Audioclassics is an "actual' storein Vestal NY, right next door to Mcintosh Company(about 3 miles) Rumor has it they have high prices and little or no follow-up service wise. Better places around if you look.
tjnif
With all due respect.....you are VERY misiniformed! I'm sure as w/ all buisnesses their isa time when nothing goes right, but Audioclassics has earned their reputation and is a thriving buisness w/ second to none service. They stand behind the items they sell and warranty them to boot! Are they priced higher than items you can buy on the Gon or ebay?? Sure! But they are checked out and guarenteed! They are also a buisness that has to turn a profit. I bought all my Mac gear from them and my Brazilian Khorns from them as well A+++!!! TommyK
I have had nothing but good experiences with Audioclassics. In advice and purchases and repairs they have been top notch. FWIW, there are several Mac dealers closer to me, but they are my preferred shop. Their web advertised used prices are at the high end, but at least they make an effort to post a price. peace, TommyK
joshnich
I do not know how audioclassics developed a reputation for bad service. My experience has been spectacular. Yes their prices on used mac gear is on the high side but in my opinion well worth it. As has been said in this thread all of the gear is serviced and brought up to spec. They are extremely conservative regarding rating the used equipment. In the end their slightly higher prices are well worth it. I think people look at the site and think "wow I have seen an amp like that on ebay sell for 300 dollars less than what they are sellling it for ...why would I buy from them?" Well add up the cost of refreshing an older unit , having it shipped in a custom box built just for that amp, and follow up service second to none and you would be a fool to buy from some potential scammer on ebay. tjnif
Welllll, I doubt I"m gonna update anytime soon......but they sure are a pretty speaker for sure, and I bet they sound awesome paired w/ Mac amps!!
tigerwoodKhorns
Yea right. I've seen your signature block. You know that you cannot help yourself. What happened to your VPI gear?[:$] This is like when I responded to an ad on Audiogon from a guy looking for a pair of black B&W N801's. I said, well, I'll respond but I have no intention of changing speakers, but gee, I always liked the look of Siganture 800's if I can ever find a pair, but who am I kidding, I won't spend that kind of money. I'm listening to my S800's rigth now, we can compare notes on your forthcomming P39's.[] Keep us posted.
tjnif
You are are KILLING me!! Did I ever tell you how evil you are[6]!! Stop tryin to instill the things I am "tryin to avoid"!! YES, I admit "IF" they sound better than my Khorns I will be "tempted" ( as my signature depicts) but I am an "Extremely Patient" person! When the time is right and the money is in hand....... we shall see!! By the way did i mention how incredibly funny I thought your avatar was???!!! DrWho
It's been my experience that Palladiums absolutely smoke Khorns. The Khorn bass bin might be a touch more dynamic, but it's totally not worth all the tradeoffs. [A]
