fenderbender
Just heard a great piece on Jimmy on NPR (the Jim Cullum Show)...If it repeats I highly suggest it... Talks about his start and how he replaced Bix Bidderbeck as Coronetist for the Wolverines at just 17 years old..... swinging stuff baby! Yeah!!! fenderbender
Top Notch!! (fender - I like your current avatar best) Yeah I think I'll stick with it as it defiantly identifies me.....one of my biggest beefs with folks is that they change avatars all the time I I don't know who is posting right away (FINI) (GLA51) (DTEL) you all know who you are!!!! that stuff keeps me up at night..... jheis
Jimmy's wife, Marian McPartland still does her weekly "Piano Jazz" show on NPR. Still going strong at 90 years young! Amazing to hear her improvise and chat with someone like Norah Jones like they went to High School together! One of my favorite shows of the week. RT FAN
I saw Jimmy's sister Marian McPartland play at Carnegis Hall, an excellent piano player. Some of her radio broadcasts have been released including the one with Becker and Fagan of Steely Dan, highly recommended for you Dan Fans.
