Milchama
After auditioning the newest Icon WF-35, Def-Tech BP7004BLA at Best Buy in a closed room hooked up to a Denon 3809ci ( I have the 3808) I really at first liked the Def-Tech but I had the Sales man switch to the Klipsch and it was really amazing how much more clear and articulate the mid and namely the highs were. Secondly, my ears felt as if I had left a high altitude perhaps due to the builtin subs on the Def-Techs. Finally, I went to a local store and listened to the RF-82, RC- 62, RS-62and RSW-10d and was definately. Floored this setup was also powered by a 3808. Due to the sales man for one trying to up sale me on the center but mainly the rear satelites as opposed to getting the RS-52 which is the speaker pckg for the RF-82 on Klipsch.com I decided to look at online stores through Klipsch.com online store locator and I got a great deal on the whole set minus the Sub,as I have an Old Polk Sub, plus free shipping and no sales tax plus a great deal from Onecall.com. Any how the 82's will here just one day before my birthday and the other speakers are on order. They will be replacing a meek set of M-50 Polks 5.1 setup. I am sure that once I get the whole setup I will be wanting a new sub as I think my current Psw 125 only hits as low as 30Hz but that wont happen until my wallet recovers from this hit. Moderators Youthman Posted February 9, 2009 Moderators Share Posted February 9, 2009 Welcome to the forums. I used to have a Polk RT-800 system and once I switched to Klipsch, there was no comparison.

Headspace
I'm brand new as well. I have always been a fan of Altec speakers and have the Model 14's & Valancias on my front end and some Santana 2's on my surround channels. For my center channel I'm using a Nature 6 center channel (2 6' inch speakers and a dome tweeter.) While it's a nice speaker there has been something lacking in the high end as they can't keep up with the Altecs sonically. Well of course I was left with little choice but to get my hands on a lightly used Klipsch C-7. I know this will be a much better match for the Altecs as I have heard many Klipsch speakers back in the day. I'm waiting for my C-7 to arrive soon. I can't wait. My only hope is it doesn't compel me to want to add a pair of Klipsch speakers to my surround back channels. This audio addiction has no logic. I'm like a crackhead in a candy store when I get around audio gear I want. Just ask my wife... Well somebody has to spend money they don't have to help drive us out of the coming global depression right?
Doc Robin
Hello and welcome to the wonderful world of Klipsch. If you will go to the garage section on the opening page you can find a list of audio terms. One of them is Timbre. This will explain the difference in sound that you will get when mixing different series of speakers. There are a lot of audio terms in that section; we all go back there from time to time; check it out. Later Bill Oh and please keep your hands and feet inside the ride while it is in Motion. Just sit back and enjoy the ride. Bill

Milchama
Well I got the Towers (RF-82) in today and my wife about freaked out about how big they are but I hooked'em up and played some CLASSICAL for a little bit and I gotta say I dont regret the purchse one bit tighter, base more defined mids and highs and incredible and life like Dynamic Range and Soundstage. I can not wait till the Center RC 62 and RS 52 get here which are on Order and thes store doesn't even have'em yet. Ohh. . . the agony. Also, due to the size and wieght of the new center speaker my floating shelf that currently supports my Polk CS 1 is not deep enough nor does it support enough wieght. Therefore I have to either buy or make a new entertainment center, fortunately I have 2 4x8's of Oak plywood in my wood shop. Hopefully I can get it built before they get here.
