Oblio Posted October 15, 2009 Posted October 15, 2009 Kinda like a biplane looks cool. Especially with a radial. No sound like a round [H] Quote
Cut-Throat Posted October 15, 2009 Posted October 15, 2009 This solution for even dispersion was the state of the art in the 1930s, but problems were noticed when these horns were used for speech reinforcement in acoustically live spaces. Intelligibility suffered, and multiple, larger horns were found to perform better when properly aligned acoustically. I can tell you that I don't much care for any speaker in 'acoustically live spaces', but in my listening room (21' x 27'), I really like the sound of my 10 cell horns. Quote
Coytee Posted October 15, 2009 Posted October 15, 2009 Although the acoustic origin for each cell is the same, the acoustic centers are separated. I'm beginning to suspect that you're an EE, aren't you? [6] Quote
