  1. A close friend recently passed and his wife gave me a pair of Quartets that he purchased on eBay. The K-10 mounting screws have pulled through the baffle. I presume they were damaged in shipment, possibly while lying face down. Should I simply rotate the woofers 45 deg and drill new mounting holes and fill the old holes with wood putty? Or is this a weak point in the design and I should use another mounting method? The K-10s are dated 1995 and the baffles are plywood. Thanks, Chris
  2. The USP-1 ships at the end of this month. (Yes, I know future dates are subject to slips)
  3. Deposit required. Before you take MY daughter on a date, you must give me a deposit of $1000. If she comes home: Late Drunk Stoned Crying Wearing different clothes In Love Your deposit is forfeit and future dates will be denied
  4. Had a few friends from KMNR who worked KUMR cause it paid real money. Of course the fun place was KMNR where we broke all the rules and sometimes paid for it [6], we were the Delta House on broadcast radio. I had a show called 'The Wild Turkey Review' on Sunday evenings, full of acid rock and lubricated with Turkey. Lot's of fun but made Monday classes a bit painful.
  5. Was that KUMR ? I was a DJ at KMNR (89.7) in the late 70's early 80's. Small world.
  6. I pretty much detest his politics but I agree that GK is one of a dying breed WRT radio theater.
  7. Cool. We are still at the Thomas stage, I need to be a bit more active in the rail yard and do more than buy the copper top ore to run things. I look forward to lots of projects such as yours if it interests him.
  8. Judging by the store stock here, just about everyone in Macon. The meat section was chock full of fatback, ham hocks and other such 'cheap' cuts. Me, they had frozen pizzas on sale and I'm making chili for an absolutley miserable cold drizzly day.
  9. Just got the BD of this last night, got it for around $10 from amazon. I'ts pretty good, I had seen it before long ago. Video is of course limited by source material and has a few scraches & dirt but overall it is good quality for concert footage. Interview dialog is a bit weak but clear, concert audio is very good.
  10. GPB/PBS has a nasty bright and of course static bug, kids were watching about 8 hours today. It left a bad afterimage when I changed to something else, probably the worse I have seen on my unit (Samsung 50" 550 series). After a short time it went away
  11. :raises hand: Much of bass is monaural since at the long wavelengths you can't discern direction because the phase differences between your ears are below our hearing resolution. I've heard that it can be tricky to set up multiple subs to get a flat FR.
  12. Welcome to the forums caglio [] Contact BEC here on the forums regarding crossovers, his website is here. I believe he ships internationally.
