Tongs?

I wouldnt touch those damn things with a cattle prod! heh... Lordy. It is usually advisable to let your amp cool just a bit before yanking those tubes out. And even then, you need to ALWAYS avoid touching the glass if possible on the tubes with a base. The fingers with a delicate touch are FAR better than any tong solution which could bring disaster. IF the tubes are hot, simply use a cotton cloth. I actually have cotton gloves that were given to me with an amp purchase long ago. I laughed at the time but have, ironically enough, used the damn things more than a few times. One, it protects the glass from the oils from your skin. And if the beasts are hot, it offers nice insulation. It does look rather wacky however.

Those damn tongs though...man. Save them for the grill and horror toaster!

ps- A hand in a cotton sock does well as well. Give you an excuse to actually WASH said sock.
