kenratboy
What do you think about 1977 La Scala's paired with the best solid-state Marantz preamp/amp available at the time. I don't have any more details than that. I know someone who has that system and wants to simplify. I could probably get all of it for $300-$500. Does that sound good? ------------------ Receiver: Sony STR-DE675 CD player: Sony CDP-CX300 Turntable: Technics SL-J3 with Audio-Technica TR485U Speakers: JBL HLS-610 Subwoofer: JBL 4648A-8 Sub amp: Parts Express 180 watt Center/surrounds: Teac 3-way bookshelfs Yes, it sucks, but better to come. mike stehr
I'd do it. You can always dump the amp/pre and make up the difference on the La Scala's. If those speakers are in decent shape, I'd be all over that. But that's me. THANX!
kenratboy
Yeah, they are all MINT MINT MINT. He loves them, and knows how much they're worth, ut he's reluctant to dump them. Why do the La Scala's seem to be the underdog of the Heritage line? I don't hear about them much on this forum. ------------------ Receiver: Sony STR-DE675 CD player: Sony CDP-CX300 Turntable: Technics SL-J3 with Audio-Technica TR485U Speakers: JBL HLS-610 Subwoofer: JBL 4648A-8 Sub amp: Parts Express 180 watt Center/surrounds: Teac 3-way bookshelfs Yes, it sucks, but better to come. mpgwagon
Underdog??? No way, Scala's are as close to the mighty Khorn as you can get. The other Heritage (except Khorns) speakers are NOT fully horn loaded. If they are mint it would be a good deal @ 3 times the price! 1977's are good ones. ------------------ http://gallery.consumerreview.com/webcrossing/images/MYSTUFF.jpg This message has been edited by mpgwagon on 03-10-2002 at 01:25 AM
