bungles
Ok so I've owned some KG-4's for quite some time now and I recently purchased some RF-3's, RC-3, and RS-3's to make a home theater. I hooked up everything and was so upset because the sound coming out of the RF-3's were horrible compared to my KG-4's. Muffled, gurgled, and not accurate at all. What I eventually learned was that the 4 connectors on the back of the speaker all need to be hooked up. What a newb!! Now everything is hooked up and the sound is jaw dropping! So I talked to a guy I work with who also has a set of Reference Series Klipsch speakers and he was unhappy with them too. Turns out he doesn't have all 4 connectors hooked up on the back of his either lol. 50x difference in sound quality!!
Moderators dtel Posted December 19, 2009 Moderators Share Posted December 19, 2009 They didn't have the metal jumpers on the terminals ? Normally the metal jumpers connect the top and bottom terminals so you can connect to the top or the bottom. I guess it did sound bad you were only listening to half of the speaker ! kelA
D'OH[] Is the coworker the one that told you to hook up like that? You only remove the jumpers if you Biwire, but lets not get to that.
bungles
there weren't any jumpers on the speakers. so I made some out of speaker wire til i get some ordered. No he didn't direct me to do it that way. I just didn't know what I was doing. Downloaded the book online and found out. heh
bungles
What jumpers should I order?
Thaddeus Smith
there's no real need to get jumpers if your speaker wire jumpers are working fine.. it would be an aesthetics issue more than anything else.
