DU73
Hi all, I have a chance of buying a pair of Klipsch Heresys 1970’s for around $1000 – I just don’t know.. I probably would need to change the caps on them like I have read in the past here, I wouldn’t even know where to begin on that. I will post pics as soon as I can but they are listed on ebay Australia.
oldtimer
That sounds awfully high even in dollars aus.
DU73
Honestly I wouldn’t know, maybe seller has asked that price as any Klipsch heritage range speakers are very rare here and hardly ever offered, also seller has ‘best offer’ option as well
Moderators dtel Posted April 20, 2010 Moderators Share Posted April 20, 2010 A crazy idea......... Considering prices are high there, have you checked to see how much it would cost you to get a set of drivers and a crossover for whatever Heritage you like, shipped to you and build the cabinets yourself ? It still will be expensive but probably much cheaper ? Told you it was a crazy idea.
DU73
dtel - thats an insane idea!! in a good way of course... lol if only i listened to my teacher in woodwork class.. i struggle to put two pieces of wood together let alone build a cabinet.. a thought to consider though for sure.. 70SATMan
Heresys at $400 USD average. Shipping to OZ can not be $500 bad even with duty.
seti
For that much you might as well get a brand new pair and pay the shipping. The new Heresy III's are awesome.
russ69
There are still brand new lacewood Heresys on e-bay for 1100 USD. The fellow even ships to Down Under!

jheis
About a year ago I sold a "new in the box" NeXT laser printer on ebay. Turns out the buyer was in Australia. The printer weighed ~40 lbs. He paid $362 for the printer & it cost $370 to ship it to Australia. Heresys weigh 40 lbs ... each! James
DU73
Thanks James – that puts things into perspective.
