We arrived just before the dinner hour and within 30 mintes the place was packed, included six of Hope's finest (local police). If they eat here, it's gotta be good! You've gotta love the corrigated steel decor! LOL

You know when it's good... it's also well protected!!! Shot of the parking lot: [;)]

Here's an after dark view of the racks that house all of the stage amplification, crossovers and power conditioners. This stage was well-endowed with high-capacity power buss, which is something so many other venues overlook. Between amps and lighting, live shows consumer an enormous amount of power...

FRIDAY NIGHT MIXER (sort of):

Originally the mixer was going to be at Fair Park in the Boy Scout Building because it was air conditioned. But the acoustics in that ciderblock and concrete building were so live that nothing short of a miracle could have made the sound good in there. So, we retired back to the hotle and a couple of members had open houses in their rooms, namely seti, kaiser SET say and Seadog....

In seti's room he had kaiser SET say's nice pair of Industrial LaScala's set up and run by ssh's pair of 7 watt, JFL2A3s tube monoblocks and a Peach. The system looked and sounded beautiful....

The hotel was almost the Audiokarma Fest all over again:

Here are ssh's JFL2A3 monoblocks that powered kaiser's LaScala's and ssh's Juicy Music Peach pre-amp. I regret not getting photos in Seadog's room, because it was wall-to-wall people when I visited, but he had his beautiful vintage Cornawalls and Heresy center set up with his trusty H.H. Scott providing the power. He posted photos of his setup in an earlier post to this thread back on page 21 here.

SATURDAY MORNING:

Ya gotta love that free continental breakfast-thing most hotels offer now. We took advantage of ours every morning and it gave me a place to drink coffee and blog to this thread, thanks to the Holiday Inn Express for that and for their free WiFi service.

Verna and I went out on our own Saturday morning, hoping to see the Klipsch Museum in town that PWK's widow, Miss Valerie runs. It's in one of the two old train depots downtown next to the tracks...
