Moderators dtel Posted April 4, 2011 Moderators Share Posted April 4, 2011 I know you have played with the EV Race software and I am stuck. What version software is in your DX38, I have the 3.21 version. I have a old laptop I can play with so I went to the EV website and downloaded the Race program but can not get it to work. Finally I noticed the version on the Dx is 3.21 and the program on the EV site is V3.10. The EV site has what looks like the firmware update but when you click on it it's not something to download it's just a bunch of numbers. Is that a EV site error or something I am doing wrong ? I can't seem to find a way to change the laptop to the 3.21 version. It's a real good thing DrWho and JC loaded the settings into the Dx for me because I would be in big trouble ! mark1101
Dtel,I have Race 3.10 as well. I don't think it matters. I believe the SW in the DX-38 is independent of the PC tools. Two different animals.
Coytee
What version software is in your DX38, I have the 3.21 version. The mere fact that you know what version of software (firmware?) is in your Dx38, puts you light years ahead of me. I just played with mine and can't figure out how to find it. Regardless... I'd listen to the likes of Mark. Not only is he smarter and better looking than me, he likes Buba-burgers. How do you like my subtle way of dodging the fact that I have no idea? Moderators dtel Posted April 4, 2011 Author Moderators Share Posted April 4, 2011 Coytee hit the option button and use the L & R arrows to go thru the menu, turn the round knob to change each setting. Try the VU meter thing at least, there are three settings, I left it on fast, I think it's fast, peak hold and slow decay. I remember you writing something about the Race program before and thought you had played with it. Regardless... I'd listen to the likes of Mark. Not only is he smarter and better looking than me, he likes Buba-burgers. Anything called a Buba-burger must be good. [Y]
Moderators dtel Posted April 4, 2011 Author Moderators Share Posted April 4, 2011 I tried connecting it with a USB serial cable, a connection like on the back of the DX and a USB on the other end. I keeps saying the RS-232 port is not open, which is the connection on the back of the DX. I am going to play with it off and on, I will figure it out eventually, I hope. Coytee
Interesting. I don't think I've ever messed with the options button! I've got the same firmware you have and the RACE program works fine for me.

Guess I need to play with it more and figure out what I am doing wrong, it has to be in there somewhere.
