I think he wanted to discuss the outrageous asking price or maybe output power. I believe that some of the pricing is that old ‘Virgin Mary grilled cheese’ effect where that online casino bought a 10 year old grilled cheese sandwich that a woman claimed had an image of the Virgin Mary on it for $28,000 as a publicity stunt to advertise the casino. Then you get a series of uninformed people attempting to ‘hit the jack pot’ and score big by selling on eBay. Maybe a ‘burnt’ resistor left a Virgin Mary image on the case?[] http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/6511148/ns/us_news-weird_news/t/virgin-mary-grilled-cheese-sells/
Mike Lindsey
I bought a G-8000 new in 1978, and I wish I still had it. That thing was a real beast, and had a very nice phono section in it. The 33000 takes it a couple of steps further, but I think 7 large is way out of line. They are pretty rare though and that one looks pretty nice. Quiet_Hollow
Swami eBay predicts, "it's going to be there for a while at that number." Highest price fetched, according to eBay, has been one exceptional piece at $1800, with a handful going for around $600, and the majority of successful sales fetching $200-300.
