tromprof
I have finally finished building my Cinema F-20 and thought I would share some build pics. This is doing the initial layout, the lines had to be exactly the same on top and bottom!
tromprof
Putting the pieces together before gluing to make sure it is right.
tromprof
Cutting the baffle for the 15 inch driver.
tromprof
Gluing underway. I used pocket screws to hold things in place and PL to glue and seal.
tromprof
With the top on, actually the bottom since I built it upside down.
tromprof
Driver installed and hatch cover made.
tromprof
I decided to install the hatch cover over the driver opening instead of flush as the plan calls for. I figured it would be easier to seal and nobody will see it anyway.
tromprof
In place and testing. Found one small leak along the bottom face. Fixed it with a little caulk.
tromprof
Painted black and in place. The sound is amazing and a great match with the K-horns. I ran RTA on it and the response is very flat, no EQ needed.
CECAA850
Nice! Thanks for sharing. I like it on it's side like that. You're using it mostly for movies? I see the screen but not the center channel.

tromprof
You're using it mostly for movies? I see the screen but not the center channel. I use it for music and movies, but at a very low volume for music, the k-horns don't need much help. Yes, there is no center channel. I have had surround sound before but didn't think it was worth the investment in equipment (or I couldn't afford the equipment to make it worth it?). The K-horns image so well in their current spot that surround sound kind of takes care of itself.

tromprof
nice build! welcome to the club.. It was your Cinema F-20 that got me started on this. I was probably going to build a Tuba HT, but wasn't real exited about starting because of the time it took to build the tuba table (lots of angled cuts!). This one is much easier and I can't get over how good it is.

He saw how easy it was for you to build. it was my favorite type of DIY project: pick and buy the parts, let some other guy put it all together, and enjoy. speaking of which, let me know when you want to build a pair of cornwalls or la scalas from scratch in a couple of years and you might just have an interested recipient.
