Exponential
I didn't design the circuit, but I did the chassis and point wiring. IT's Steven Deckert's ZEN Triode 2W x2 stereo amp. Sounds fantastic through my Cornwalls, and plenty LOUD. Right Click "Open image in new window" to see it all.
sunnysal
looks great! so you leave some pins off the EL84 and run them "triode"? regards, Tony
tube fanatic
How about some under-chassis photos so folks can see just how simple a tube amp can be? It might be fun to have some friends over and ask them how much power they think you're running after hearing the system! Maynard

NOSValves
Not a triode.....well maybe half way. To run full triode the plate and screen would be tied together with a 100 ohm rather the 1000 ohm resistor.
tube fanatic
Btw, the way the schematic is drawn, G1 and G2 are reversed. Triode operation is present here as the screen is connected at the plate end of the output transformer as opposed to the B+ end as it would be for pentode operation. Deckert does specify a 1k resistor for the triode strapping. Not exactly sure why he goes with such a large value, but possibly to keep things under better control if the screen doesn't track with the plate as it should. But, from the standpoint of controlling possible parasitics, having it there certainly can't hurt.
Guest " "
is the rest of the circut up on their site? B+ voltage and power supply arrangement? Your amp looks great and certainly 2W is plenty for cornwall's. I have a 2W SE that I use to demo speakers and folks can't believe it's coming from a 2W amp and the SE clarity astonishes them. enjoy.
