philly0116
I have a pair of 1997 La Scala's that I am setting up for music only. Im needing to get a vintage amp and I see several that are 15-16 wpc. Can anyone provide any insight as to how that will sound? Will 15-16 wpc give me good volume and everything or should I go up in wpc? I am looking at the marantz 2216b. Thank you!! Daddy Dee
I've used an HK430 with very good results with Heritage and know for sure there is good synergy there. It has a bit more power, 25wpc, i think. Never had it close to running out of power.
Rivernuggets
Don't have much experience with Marantz but many here have praised the 22XX series. I'll second Dee's comments on vintage Harman Kardon. I have an HK 730 (40 watts x 2 I think) with Chorus II's and it gets plenty loud for me with power to spare. La Scalas are more efficient than Chorus II's and will be louder given the same power. erik2A3
I've used a couple of vintage tube amps in that range and a bit more. Spectacular sound with La Scalas!
mike stehr
I did it with 800 milliwatts per channel of 71A.
