MacWorld writers?

Oh, how F'in hard is it to open Word and start typing? I mean, this isn't rocket science! I mean, it's not like a magizine editor is going to be using hardcore hardware or programming to make a magizine article. Maybe the internet, MAYBE (big maybe) Photoshop, but they don't even need to come close to scratching the surface of what a Mac or PC can do.

A SINGLE AMD Athlon XP2100+ beat the KRAP out of the dual 1GHz Apple G4 for Photoshop 6 and all video editing (and everything else), those are the two apps Mac claims to be supperior in. Both systems were equal and neither was made to fail. Same video, memory, version of software, etc. Only, the PC was $3,000 and the apple was like $4,200. It was done by a graphics magizine, and was really non-bias. They wanted answers.

Not so, not so.

How many have switched from Apple to PC? A lot.s>

This may strike you as funny: The same Bo$se clock radio is now being sold at QVC - that awful TV shop where they try to sell all kinds of crap.

The fine piece of Bo$se only costs $499, and the moderators even had a Bose representative in the studio while "happy customers" could call in. One of them found it to be a good buy because she could receive more radio stations in Florida than in California (!!!)

Oehh and she also got a flimsy-looking plastic remote controller with Funai written all over it Smile.gif

About the Mac-issue: I find it amusing that the Macs incorporate a lot of PC technology (USB and AGP to name some). Granted, the OS X looks nice, but that´s about it.

Well, the whole myth about MAC being faster is DEAD!

Picture this, three people go out for a Sunday drive. One is in a 1987 Hyundi, thats the MAC, and the other two are in 2002 BMW M3's, those are the PC's.

They are all going along nice and slow, together, and all of a sudden, the two M3's decide to race for money, so they punch it and leave the Hyundi in their dust. The Hyundi doesn't have the speed or capability to go faster, and the PC's keep getting farther and farther away.

Need I say more?

64-bit CPU's

DDR-II $ QDR

GeForce 5

8X AGP

Serial ATA

...

Justin, good for you, resist the dark side, stay with PC (or the M3.)

There was one point a year ago where I wanted a Mac in addition to my PC, after visiting my local MAC dealer, I lost interest VERY quickly.

my ex-girlfriend had an M3, her dad's friend got tired of the car because it had no cargo space, so she sold it to them... 4 months later we break up and i only got to drive it once Frown.gif

also what i find funny with the macs.... they are comparing everything to PC's and doing basic office things on them and how they were so hard to do on the PC.... wait one minute! the ONLY decent office software for the mac is Office, yeah, that is from Microsoft, not from Steve Jobs. I have both, and the interfaces is 99.9% the same.

and first off, it is not easier to use a pc, just one example is simply changing the printers, you can't do it from the print window, you must go to the apple, choose, select the printer, select the port, make sure appletalk is off, then hit ok, then hit ok again about the page setup window then go to print, close your current print window, click page setup, close page setup, click print, then print. wow, that was easy... NOT. lets see how you do it on a PC... hit crt+p... allready printing. if you need to change the printer, file, print, select printer, click print, it is printing. no spooling problems like macs, background printing etc.

i use macs about 30% of the time, pc's 70%, since at my mom's company, she uses all macs, since when the company was started, PC's were not good for what they do. oh well, maybe when/if i take over the company i can switch it over.

oh, and the macs break down so much, these are all brand new have you, G4 towers and the new iMacs, that we have our own mac specialist who comes out every wednesday.

Holy MAC vs PC debate... Can we get any more depressing?

I am a complete PC user but many of the companies I have worked with in graphics and advertising use MACs with full smiles. Ditto with web design.

Both have good things about them. Both have strengths and weaknesses. Both can be excellent machines. I was hoping this MAC vs PC pissing contest would fade into the Netherworld.

Klipsch forum? Indeed; perfect place for it.

OK:

My friend has a 1991 BMW 318iS.

My neighboor has a 2001 BMW M3.

My firends car was someones beater, 140,000 miles, needs paint. Red.

My neighboors M3 only has 3,800 miles on it. Has own garage for it. 100% MINT. Yellow.

My neighboor (he's a nice guy) was washing the car on the street, and my friend and I drove by him at about 3MPH, he started laughing and pointing at the 318iS, and then he would point at his M3 and give two thumbs up. It was funny as hell! He know EXACTLY what we were doing, I am sure people have done that before...

Needless to say, my firend and I want that car, but, you know...

Also, my next car will be a stick, so my brother cannot drive it, only my mom and dad (who I trust emencly.) I wouldn't even fathom letting my brother ride in my car, lat alone, and god forbid, drive it!!!

Sounds like a plan to me.

I want to get a VW Jetta, and I am sure it will be making many a' trips to the shooting range. Probably not the VW image, but a Passat W8, at $40,000 isn't exactly for little freaks.

Forget this modern BMW mess. I dont own anything fun to drive after 72. In 74, the bumper law killed most cars. See my two German ox carts. I still have the 72 Bavaria. Makes modern BMW iron look like plastic. The 72 2002 was stolen six years ago. One of my favorite all time drives. The 6 in the Bav is amazing, and considered one of the best engines in the World by Road and Track in the day.

First, the 2002 ROCKS!

Second, what mess? I find BMW to be one of the "cleaner" car companies around. I am shooting for a 325iS as a fun car, maybe a >1995.

We have a BMW 735i. Great car... fun to drive and great to look at. Smile.gif Not to mention an AWESOME audio system. After experimenting with our Alpine CD player today, I found out this thing's true capabilities. It has two tweeters, two 8" subs, and the four main speakers. Sounds great! Almost too much bass too! I removed the high-pass crossover and suddenly the car was filled with wonderful bass! Truly awe-inspiring compared to what it used to sound like... cwm4.gif

MAC...brrrr

MAC computers sure look great, they are the best looking computers you can buy.I almost purchased a G4 dual this year!LOL And this because of looks!

Well I have three PC's,one Athlon XP2100+,a P4 2GHz(overclocked,2.5Ghz+)and a classic Athon 950(at 1GHz).

Side by side in benchmarks and for games the PC eats the MAC whole.

I will not switch to MAC anytime soon, unless they realese a true contender with pure horsepower.
