Mudkicker
I am shopping for a new LED TV and cannot find any with S Video input. My Marantz 4002 can only display the menu via S Video and not HDMI. Would I need a converter box or only a converter cable? The price difference between the box and cable is huge. CECAA850
Why not use some type of CONVERTER? Sorry, you were asking about box/cable. Some of the cables are just a few bucks, they wouldn't be too expensive to try. Edited November 12, 2014 by CECAA850
tigerwoodKhorns
I am pretty sure the cable will not work. HDMI is digital and S Cable in analog. Keep an old TV around. Cheaper than a converter.
mattSER
The Marantz can't display the OSD via standard RCA video cable? I would think it should. All TVs are still equipped with regular RCA video jacks.
The History Kid
^ Actually, when I left RadioShack we were getting in some new Samsung and Vizio TV's that did not feature any inputs other than HDMI. I was kind of baffled by that.

Copied this from the manual.t MONITOR OUT This is a monitor output and each one includes both composite video and S-video configurations. When connecting two video monitors or televisions, be aware that the OSD interface can be used with both MONITOR OUT connections.
