rockhound
OP how do you like those h3's? I've been considering getting a pair once my son is responsible enough to take over my current H2's. Glad you got your issue resolved!
ChuckAb3
There's a lot to be said for buying new with a warranty and buying from an authorized dealer. Not so easy to do with heritage. I've lucked out with used speaker purchases so far. Let us know how those speakers sound.
CECAA850
OP how do you like those h3's? I'm not the OP, but really like mine. Actually I have H3 guts in a H2 box but they sound Identical. They seem to have a little better bass than the 2's and are a little smoother (more refined) to my ears. Other opinions may vary.
jjptkd
The nice thing about the older speakers is that parts are a plenty both new and used and usually not too expensive. There was a guy on another forum who lost some tubes and it took out one of his diamond tweeters on a set of B&W's and the replacement part was $1200. Analog 2000
Oh I love my H3s they are Incredible, as for the common complaints about lack of bass, I have none. In my fairly small listening room (12'x15') they are capable of putting out an incredible level of bass. I grew up listening to my dads JBL horns and I have to say music hasn't sounded right until I got these.
