mwells
This looks like a nice pair of Quartets for a very fair price. I paid a bit more than this for mine. I really love the midrange on the Quartet/Forte II/Chorus II series. I wish I had the room for another pair. https://indianapolis.craigslist.org/ele/4986846037.html Edited April 24, 2015 by mwells
opusk2k9
Quartets are nice. 10" woofer on the front, 12" passive on the back. On the right recording, the bass is great. I have a pair that came with a matching oak KW-10 II sub, great little combination.
mwells
On the right recording, the bass is great. Yep...if it's in the recording, the Quartets will certainly let you hear it. Just for kicks, I played a few Victor Wooten videos on youtube one night. The solo bassists are fun to listen to sometimes and the Quartets handled the task better than I expected them to. derrickdj1
Are these in between the Forte and Heresey? They look like smaller Forte's. Edited April 23, 2015 by derrickdj1
willland
Are these in between the Forte and Heresey? They look like smaller Forte's. Size wise yes. Kind of a smaller forte II. Same sound signature, similar bass response, in a smaller package. I loved the two pairs of Quartets I owned but ended up keeping my Heresys/Heresy II's. John Chi-town
Yes the family tree is as follows: Chorus = Papa Bear, Forte= Mama Bear, and Quartet = Baby Bear. When I purchased my forte II in 1992, I considered the Chorus II, but INMHO the forte II is a better balanced speaker and also digs lower than the Chorus II. The Quartet INMO is a Heresey with proper bass response. Great price if clean and in working order. Best regards, John
