snailtrax
I have a Pioneer VSX-1121-K AVR that is dieing. It has the dreaded UE22 error. It will cost $400.00 + to repair. I will be looking to replace it with a new AVR. Problem is, I need Preamp outs and it is getting harder to find one with Pre amp outs for a decent price. Does any one know of a 300 - 500 dollar AVR with Pre outs? With Black Friday and Cyber Monday here, this should not be hard to do. I need at least Pre outs for L R SL SR Center and Sub. Any Ideas? willland
How does as man decide now. Which one you like better? Sorry. From what I have heard/read, Yamaha seems to be the most reliable brand. On the other hand, I have enjoyed my trouble free Onkyo TX-SR705 since 2007. Bill
CHASLS2
It used to be you could get a good AVR with preouts for under $600. I think most around 1k or more now. My SC61 is still hanging in there and i will keep it as long as it works.
oldred
If we're looking for a good receiver with pre outs and didn't care about Atmos..... I probably get one of those Cambridge Audio 7.1 that Accessories4less sells. I think it's the 551R G.E.M
Arrow#422
I'm struggling with this exact issue, and although I'm not really in need of the Atmos, it seems to be included with current offerings. I'm leaning toward upping my budget to $1000 which would allow consideration of the Dennon avr-x4200w, with 125wpc / 7.2 Atmos / 4K / HD / wifi / bluetooth / airplay / Audyssey Platinum with LFE - and it is HDCP 2.2 compliant. wvu80
I have the Onk 717, bought in 2013 for $500. It was 110 wpc and the pre-outs are why I bought that model. My Onk sounds great has a lot of codecs (not Atmos) and has been 100% reliable. I'm not sure which new Onk fits into your budget and pre-out needs. +++ If you need the pre-outs, you are obviously looking for an amp somewhere down the road. Have you considered a dedicated pre-out and pick up an amp? Mr. Teaman will be along shortly to recommend a nice Emotiva for you. "One for each channel?" Have you seen Teaman's signature quote, listing all his stuff? He's more likely to recommend five, one for each room!
