FreddyC
Currently running a Marantz 2230 as a preamp and a Dynaco ST70 through Original Large Advents. I'm somewhat satisfied but I'm not getting the volume I want. Everything I've been reading leads me to Klipsch Heresys. I'd appreciate opinions on whether or not the original Heresys or the Heresy II would be better. I'd prefer to stay in the $500 range
The Dude
I think you will be happy with Heresy I's. But either or will work just fine. Good luck and welcome to the forum.

tk49
For another $100 Forte's or Forte II's will really shine. I think they have the same footprint or close to it. t
rockhound
I can not speak of H1's but I have H2's and 3's. I had tblake10's st-70 for awhile with m H2's and loved that combo very sweet sounding setup. I think you will enjoy any Heresy version with tubes. FreddyC
I found a pair of Forte II's and got the seller down from $550 to $475.
FreddyC
I keep reading about weak bass in the Heresy but I've also read that hooking them up to the 8 ohm tap makes a significant difference. I guess I just need to listen for myself.

rockhound
Run and get those Forte's awesome speaker had those with the ST-70 also. They dig pretty deep and have a nice footprint.
