BryanJ
Wolfram, If you indeed are wanting to have a go at it. I'll not bid anymore. I poked at the current to see what it was at. Let me know since I think every PWK owner should have one....according to the board Bryan
BryanJ
Craig, got my capacitor meter today. Got a big chuckle from the name Fung YU,, no YU FUNG. Looks and feels like a darn quality piece! Going to power it up and give a run. Thanks for the website again. Bryan

Now would of been nice to fire u my 81 or Scott still in transit! Bryan
Clipped and Shorn
That's the price of 3 VG Blue Notes or a quad of NOS Genelex KT66. Thinking about the KT66, that is a bit steep for an HF-81. LOL. -C&S ------------------ Cornwalls currently upgrading to all tube components This message has been edited by Clipped and Shorn on 09-13-2002 at 01:48 PM
Parrot
$540. Congrats, Wolfram, if that was you. Otherwise, congrats to whomever.
dubai2000
It'll end up in Germany - YES! Hopefully it'll be in the condition described. I am rather excited at the moment - I admit - and also hope that it'll survive shipment. Wolfram
Parrot
The seller should be a good shipper with his experience. But make sure you have him double-box. Worth an extra several dollars or Euros to prevent damage. If he doesn't plan to take the tubes out, make sure he stuffs tissue paper around them to protect them. You'll love the amp. dubai2000
Thanks a lot for the advice. I am already counting days until I can hear it for myself. Wolfram

dubai2000
Thanks Bryan. It'll be interesting to hear how this amp sounds in comparison to my current 300B integrated. It's of Chinese origin and I know how sceptical most people are towards their products. But I have changed all the tubes and some helping hand has even changed the stock caps. I must say that I am quite pleased with this amp and obviously the EICO using different tubes will sound different. But having read so many positive comments on vintage tube amps, I thought I give it a shot. Wolfram Thanks for the link. It might turn into something interesting. BryanJ
Glad you got it Wolfram! Now the waiting for delivery is most unsettling. Will it arrive safely, will it arrive at all? Those questions that will annoy us until the arrival. I sent out my MO 2 day air but USPS said it would not arrive to Canada until 3 or 4 days. My seller has good feedback but less than favorable write back to my questions. He is a seller for other people from what I can "Extract" from the posts. His english is readable only. From my own personal dealing with patients, sounds asian. Hope it works for the both of us!! Bryan
dubai2000
So do I! My seller has not yet responded to my mail, but after all it's weekend so such a delay is in a way understandable. It will be interesting to read how you'll like your amp. If what I've read is true, using it shall certainly be satisfying. Wolfram
mobile homeless
You are going to have a problem with the power conversion over there, right? I hope you remembered to take this into account. Congratulations, however. Remember, most move from vintage integrated and the like TO more resolution etc via the SET solution, although I dont know the quality of parts in yours. kh
dubai2000
Yes, simply plugging it into the wall won't do! I have already looked for a step-down transformer. They are not difficult to get, but which capacity(?) should they have? I have seen one which can be used up to 500 Watts (sorry for the untechnical language) and has two sockets, so I was wondering if I couldn't use it for my Mc Tuner too (instead of having two boxes getting dusty)?
