That motor made it from Maine, to CA, to MS back to Cal and then back to TX. Took the stock 350 out the first month I owned it.
Wardsweb
My grandfather bought this car new in December of 1954. By the time I got it, the old 265 was worn out. An oil filter was optional and he didn't get one. So, I took a 1967 283 4-bolt truck block and punched it 40 and fitted a Crower cam. The 196 heads are ported, polished and roller rockers. I used 1957 ram horn exhaust manifolds and had them HPC coated. The intake is an Edelbrock with the their name ground off and powder coated. A nice little 300 horse small block. I sold that car during the gas crunch when I couldn't get premium gas any longer. I wish I knew where it was today.

Well, since I am not a Ford guy I drove it from Maryland to Texas and sold it for $900 about 6 months later. Think maybe I coulda got a few more $$ today if i still had it but then again that would also be true for the 64 1/2 Mustang, '64 Nova SS, '67 Nova SS, '68 Chevelle SS, '69 Camaro SS, '69 Camaro Z/28, '66 GTO, '68 GTO, '70 Cuda, etc, etc
