absolve2525
Does anyone have one? It's a little older sub that's included with some used gear I'm looking at. Wondering how it sounds for music. Thanks
Fizik
They're a bit underwhelming compared to some other klipsch subs in my opinion. My brother had one and it always seems a bit "muddy." He sold it and found a rw-12, it's a much better sounding sub in comparison.
jjptkd
The 12 wasn't too bad but it wasn't really designed for music I don't believe. It has reasonable output and will hit some low notes, they're about $50-$75 good on the used market. The 10's don't have the output and the 15 is really sloppy, sounds grossly underpowered. I think the 12 was best out of that run of subs but still nothing to write home about.

CECAA850
Subwoofer technology has passed it by. I'd look for a newer offering.
absolve2525
I have a pretty hefty Dayton Titanic 12in Mk 3 subwoofer driver in storage, as well as an extra Bash 500 amp. Perhaps I could retro fit the cabinet. http://www.parts-express.com/dayton-audio-tit320c-4-12-titanic-mk-iii-subwoofer-4-ohm--295-
CECAA850
It would probably be better to build a cabinet from scratch. That way you can be sure it's braced properly and has the correct volume for that driver. If you go the sealed route, there's a chart that comes with that amp that gives resistor values for gain at certain frequencies. You can tailor the amp to your particular application. absolve2525
Oh! I didn't realize the amp had those options. I bought it used without manual. Perhaps I can download the manual to get the details. Thanks!

The directions tell you which resistors to swap and what values to buy to get the desired boost at the desired frequencies.
CECAA850
THIS is a sub I built for my son with a BASH 500 and 2 drivers Derrick gave me (forum member derrickdj1). They were out of an old EPIC sub that had one of their notoriously bad amps.
CECAA850
Well dang, the picture showing the amp installed is gone from that thread for some reason.
CECAA850
Here it is. I had one on my phone.
absolve2525
Sweet! Thanks, I was able to find the resistor values on Parts Express site. What eq did you use for sealed subs? Nice work!
CECAA850
I was going to use 6 dB @ 20 Hz but my son didn't want it. He said it was fine where it was. He runs it pretty hard so I had no problem leaving it flat.
