Alexander
I have noticed that the Forte II schematic crossover have phase dots used but most of the other model speakers crossovers do not. Should I observe them when building my crossover?
boom3
The dots indicate the end of the wire that is on the outside of the coil, just as the outer foil layer of a cap is indicated by a dot nearest the terminal where it connects. Normally connected "nearest ground". Of significance at RF frequencies and impedences; what this means at speaker frequencies and impedances, I'm not sure. It's more important to have coils at right angles to each other to prevent coupling.
pzannucci
No phase on an inductor. Must be a misuse of the symbol or a typo.
Deang
Is that even a Klipsch schematic?

Deang
Just be consistent. Crossovers don't care.
WMcD
I agree it is not a Klipsch schematic. It seems to me that the dot on the upper circuit is just a misplaced dot for a junction. OTOH, there is a dot on the lower circuit where there is already a dot for a junction. I also agree that audio circuits are not affected by directions of windings in an inductor.
