sunburnwilly
My Parasound 5250 has been dropping the left main channel on occasion . The proverbial slap on the side brings it back . Any issues I should be aware of before I pop the cover ; not a fan of electrical shock .
willland
Look for a cold solder crack in that channel. Bill

wstrickland1
Hey man if you need to send it off for repair I have a Carver that you're very familiar with. It's just sitting here unused so let me know and I'll drop it off at your place.
JohnA
I had trouble with the output relays in my HCA-1203 and 1000A. After the second replacement, I sold them and bought Acurus. Test that first. Maybe you could find replacements with gold plated contacts.

Have you ever had them serviced/recapped? Bill

Bill Yes, they are and I've never had them serviced. I can't remember how old they are, either. They are on all the time, except during thunderstorms, playing background music during the day and TV/movies in the evening. I am at home a lot, but I enjoy coming home to music playing. Now that the kids are grown and gone, the house it too quiet.
sunburnwilly
Billy thanks for the offer you are one of the good ones ! Opened it up and didn't see anything obvious , Jiggled the connections , buttoned it back up and it's been fine since . Doesn't look too friendly for my skill set . wstrickland1
so if you send it off let me know. The amp is literally sitting in a spare room doing nothing. I won't even use it if I get a new pair of LS2's......
sunburnwilly
Thanks Billy if it comes to that I'll definitely take you up on the offer .
