avguytx
The quote came from the movie "Ruthless People" with Danny Devito, Judge Reinhold, and Bette Midler. It's what Judge Reinhold, a home stereo salesman, says to a kid looking at these huge speakers he can't afford. Great movie. And Forte 3's are nearly as big as the "Dominator MX10's". lol Sorry for the language....just part of the movie.

However, the Forte features a rear-firing 15” passive radiator that requires the loudspeaker to be placed at least 1” away from the back wall. For optimal low-bass performance, it is recommended the loudspeaker be placed within 2 to 10 inches of the back wall. This will provide the best low bass loading and enhance the low frequency extension of the loudspeaker. That sounds kind of right, I was told 6" was fine, but 1" might be a little close imo. Can't give a fair 2 ch review since I put them as front L&R for ht with a forte ll for a center, sounds great for Ht. They didn't get much play for 2 Ch here, with much better speakers for 2 ch already. Plus when I did listen to them in 2 ch I have a really good sub playing crossed at 80, not a fair review of the speaker really. I can turn off the sub but for anyone who normally uses a sub you know without it something sounds off or missing. And I don't like extra bass just to take up where the speaker leaves off, not overly done.
