One early Saturday morning about 10 years ago, before I was married, my live in girlfriend lay in bed after I got up. I really wanted to listen to some music, but she always slept many hours after I got up. She was a real sound sleeper and was not easy to wake up. I decided it was time to "test" my new Heresy's. I slipped a sound effects CD into my player, cued it up to a track featuring a 747 Jumbo Jet coming in for a landing, and set the volume pot to about 3/4 volume. This particular sound effect track, recorded digitally, started really gradually with the 747 a good distance away, so all you could hear at the beginning was crickets an chirping birds. I stayed out of view where I couldn't be seen, as the crescendo got gradually louder. About about the time when the 747 was right overhead and about when 100 db was filling the room, my girlfriend went directly from horizontal to vertical in a spit second with eyes the size of dollar bills. I'll never forget the look on her trying to figure out what the F**** was going on.
