Kain
Well? What is a SPL meter and what do you use it for? Okay, okay, this may be a very newbie question but...I am a newbie!
Orange Peel
A sound pressure level meter, measures the level of sound pressure coming from your speakers, enables you to calibrate and fine tune all the speakers to the same levels, this way you don't have the left front louder than the right front, and center, etc..... Probably not the most "scientific" answer, but it's pretty much the most easy to understand in English Someone will correct me if I'm wrong, which I probably am
ERIK
In simplest terms it measures the volume of your speakers.

marksdad
kain, if you havent bought one yet, do it! it is so simple to use, and with those new rf 7's you will gain new definition, more fluidity, once i set my levels everything seemed to flow from point to point like water, i did not realize it, because i set all my levels by ear, and i thought i was really close, but from speaker to speaker i was as much as 10 decibles off, now when a sound moves across the room it really moves, no discernable breaks, or level increase or decrease, it makes our klipsch's sound even more like klipsch's.
