The digital coax and optical were the same price- 24.99 or something. I chose the optical, though, for obviious reasons. What soundcard do you have? Some with the stereo-mini digital coax I am actually not sure what you would use. I guess it is just a mono cable- stereo-mini to RCA and prefereably gold plated. Could be wrong. Wal-Mart has them, I think, and is a bit cheaper than some others from Circuit City, etc.-- mine was $25 from Circuit City for a THX certified Monster... It works fine and it came with two mini optical adapters for use with some of the minidisc players and the like. What I got was a Recoton VDC901.
