Surferdude Posted October 29, 2002 Share Posted October 29, 2002 I've got a 6.1 system and the rear surround speaker buzzes when the receiver is turned off, not always but a good deal of the time. The speaker is a klipsch SC-1 (yes a center channel speaker, no one would sell me just one surround speaker, only pairs so I got this. It's hooked to the receiver via 30' of kimber 4PR,14 gauge wire. Doesn't seem to matter wether other appliances in the room are turned on or not, anyone know what's going on? Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Anyhow, does the speaker buzz when it is unhooked from the receiver? If so, I'd guess it's picking up vibrations from some other source in the vicinity - a sympathetic vibration I think it is called. When the tv's off, no buzz, tv on, buzz. just some thing to check. TV on (buzz buzz), TV off (no buzz) (clapper imitation). Wow, I should go to bed.
