tigerwoodKhorns
I need some in wall speaker wire. Looking at Monoprice and KnuKonceptzs https://www.monoprice.com/product?p_id=13716 http://www.knukonceptz.com/search-results/sp/kl3-kable-142-audiophile-cl3ul-in-wall-speaker-wire-500ft/ Monoprice is $50 less. I think that it is the way to go. Runs will be up to about 50 maybe 70 feet. I assume 14 ga is fine. 70 feet is 0.177 ohms Experts please advise. babadono
What's the load? And don't say "speakers". If it's a KlipschHorn 14 ga is fine. If it's a 1000W power hungry subwoofer I'd go larger.
carlthess40
I use all 12 and 10ga and 8 for any of my larger speakers and subs12ga will work very well in the walls for sides and tears and so on, but if it’s for subs, go larger. Your amps will be happier and run cooler Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
tigerwoodKhorns
This is for surround sound in my bedrooms, so 14 ga should be good I think.

tigerwoodKhorns
Which one? Is the Monoprice stuff good enough? I used Belden for the security system because I didn't want cheap wire that might not last in my walls. I was pricey.
derrickdj1
Go cheap, it will not make a difference.

Try to keep them away from other wires in the wall and don't use copper clad aluminum.

I am not really worried about sound quality with either wire, but I don't want to use the cheap Amazon basic wire or something similar because I have seen cheap wire corrode and turn green over time. This will be in wall and very difficult to replace if it corrodes.
