lancesl
Anyone know where to get one? Klipsch said they do not make them anymore.....
bkrop
Last weekend there was one posted on ebay, you can try checking and rechecking there.
Malcolm
eBay sounds like the best bet. You need the correct one. Just any the same size won't work properly. Has to have the correct compliance and mass.
STL
I might have a pair for sale. Anyone still looking for one (or two)?
djk
I modeled these in BassBox and they look like they should work fine. Forte' and Kg4 http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/pshowdetl.cfm?&DID=7&Partnumber=295-192 Forte' II and Chorus II http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/pshowdetl.cfm?&DID=7&Partnumber=295-194 To work properly in the Forte' II you will want to add about 100g worth of washers. The way these passive radiators are made they are very easy to fine tune.
STL
Just curious, djk, how did you model them in BassBox? Wouldn't you need the T/S specs on the K-8-K (or K-3-K) KG4 woofer and the K-25-K Forte woofer? Actualy come to think of it you wouldn't, but you would need to know the frequency the original PRs are tuned to. Also, to really compare them you would need the specs on Klipsch's KD-12 and KD-15 PRs? Do you really have all that info? If so, where did you find it? That being said, those do look like quality PRs (unlike many I've seen before), but if anyone wants some original Klipsch KD-12 PRs for their KG4s then I am willing to sell mine for less than those Dayton's. djk
I made the numbers up out of thin air! All that is needed is the box size and the frequency response, work backwards from there. The PE are very nice, if a bit pricey. I make my own, but I have the experience and the test equipment to do so. Its really not that hard. Here is a mind blower: Audax HT300Z2 + 15" PE passive (add 200gms) + Heresy + EV Interface A eq = 32hz at 98dB/W The Audax has 4X the x-max that the K22 does. It is also 2dB more efficent. Make a new back panel and mount the passive on it. Add a 50µF cap in parallel with the woofer (with a type E network). I can usually find the EV eq on eBay for ~$
Klipsch Employees Trey Cannon Posted April 10, 2003 Klipsch Employees Share Posted April 10, 2003 There has been a ENG request to find a passive for the kg4. I don't know how long this will take or if we will find one, but I do know we are looking into it.
STL
djk, So what frequency did Klipsch tune the KD-12 passive to?

krustyoldsarge
Wow, are you saying you converted Heresy's to PR! Awesome, kinda like a Forte!
