Marvel
Welcome Fabien! Those are new enough that I don't know the dating schema. They used to use a letter in the sn that indicated the year. However, I believe for yours, the first two numbers in the SN are the year, the second two are the week.
Moderators Travis In Austin Posted June 20, 2021 Moderators Share Posted June 20, 2021 LS = La Scala AL4 is the version of the speaker, they are now currently on Mk. 6 BIR is birch, raw birch Those are from an era where the serial numbers are hard to match to an exact year. It would help to have photos of the fronts. Here is another thread with information on speakers very similar to yours. As I recall they narrowed that down to 2006 time frame, but you will need to read thread to know for sure. https://community.klipsch.com/index.php?/topic/191690-la-scala-al4-info-needed/ Travis

Bruce, yes it did go to that eventually, but that for sure isn't from 2017 if it's a one piece box, and all birch. We had that come up with these His are 170237 and ??. So slightly earlier. Marvel
Could they have reversed the month/year? That would make the 2002, 17th week.

Good Memory! That was the speculation on that pair of speakers linked to above, there was a 2nd thread, And you are in that one Bruce. That was one theory, week and year, 17th and '03 with the other ones.
Marvel
I'm still wanting to find out when my MWMs were made. Even more difficult.

Il me semble que dwilawyer t'a donné un moyen de trouver l'année de tes AL4. Bon forum 😄

I think he is going to need the most help on this part. The AL4 is steep slope isn't it? So how do you ask in French whether he has equipment to test for ESR, etc.? It they are '02 he could test now for baseline, but I seems a bit early, unless he is just looking to modify to something else. I'm thinking he needs to get you guys photos of the networks. However this isn't my area.

fabien1303
Thanks for your interest and answers. I read the post for dating the year of manufacturing and I understand that it's difficult near 2000. The crossover is AL4 but my scala is one cabinet and the mid-range is the K55x..
mustang_flht
Hi It seems that the 17 is not part of the date, but of the product code, moreover we find it on the line above and the other AL4 also have this 17. LSABR17 = LS AL4 BIR RAW 17 and after date 0237 and after serial number 0002 So if we start from this principle your date would be 02 for the year 2002 and 37 for the week. It remains to be seen what means what is also found on the other AL4s pictured. here is for example a black AL4 from 2005, still with this famous 17 we are progressing and as dwilawyer asks what are your desire for a change in this La Scala? mustang_flht
Well here's one without the 17, but suddenly it has two - - instead 🥵
mustang_flht
your 17 may mean: # 17 = Duracrest, black, poly-olefin, stranded, coarse weave (Heritage only) This is the type of black grid
fabien1303
OK. In first time I want to change the connectors for more easy. I'm looking for crossover shema for test all parts and perhaps change if something is wrong.
