PHIL O
I'm looking for a sub that will be somewhat versatile, can anyone help me with some suggestions?
Orange Peel
SVS 20-39 PC+ SVS Dual Ultra's SVS Anything Did I mention SVS?
PHIL O
How would that SVS sub perform above 30Hz?
NOZ
The real question is, how does it perform below 30hz...
Orange Peel
The SVS performs wonders all accross the board. Musically it's amazing, HT wise, it's extraordinary!! You WON'T find a better sub for what you want, and for the price it's crazy not to get it. If you're not happy with it, which I doubt will be the case, you can always return it within 45 days for a full refund, minus shipping of course. But don't worry, once you plug it in and listen, you'll have an Ear to Ear grin all day long!

PHIL O
TheEAR why don't you have an SVS in you subwoofer arsenal?
Orange Peel
He used to have Ultra's from what I've read. I know he's planing to buy the new SVS box sub or 2 I'm sure Can't go wrong with SVS.
PHIL O
Orange how does your single SVS hold up to you RF3's? I'm a real heavy bass fanatic, especially since a lot of the movies I watch have rap songs on the soundtrack, how would the SVS handle in that area? PHIL O
And since I plan to add a pair of RF3-II before the week is out do you think I should lean towards a pair of SVS's or would a single sub do the trick. I don't want overkill since I'm in an apartment.
imasndtek
PHIL O, Considering that you are in an apartment, I think that one 20-39 PC+ will definitely do the trick. I have RF5's for fronts, RB5's for surrounds, and this thing has no problem keeping up with them. In fact, I have the volume on the SVS to about 30%, and the receiver set at -5 fo the sub output. You won't be dissapointed with SVS.
Orange Peel
ditto, it's MORE than enough sub, mine's set to 1/3 or less gain. I will add another later, but for now, PLENTY, trust me.
PHIL O
If and when I do add that second one will it need to be powered, or passive, or just another PC sub?
Orange Peel
Just add another PC+ sub. That's what I will do, have 2 20-39 PC+'s.
PHIL O
Okay now the biggest dilemma is gettting this big mofo past my wife so she won't notice that I've went and slapped doe down on yet another "gadget" (so she calls it). It's not really a spouse friendly sub I see, but I guess it's worth it.
Orange Peel
Once she hears it she won't complain anymore My fiancee loves it now.
aab3rd
Phil O, I am getting ready to sell an eight month old Sunfire MKII sub. It is 11" cube and goes deep. Just ask Ears about it. They are highly recomended for HT and don't do bad for music either. Price is $700 plus shipping from Bolivar, TN 38008. Let me know if you are interested. BTW it is in perfect shape. PHIL O
How hard is placement for SVS subs?
Deang
Sub placement is the same for all subs, just find a good corner. One thing nice about the SVS, is that though it is fairly tall -- it really has a fairly small footprint. I'm selling my 20-39CS Plus. It's running in an ad below. You don't see them up for sale often, and for good reason. However, I'm moving to big 'ole horns -- and need the money to finance the venture.
