Kain
Which, in your opinion, is better for MP3s and why?
marksdad
i love mini's, they record so well off of any media, and they unlike cd's, are almost indistructable
Femtochemistry
MDs are the way man!!
prodj101
minidisc's rule the planet! femto and marks dad try to convince fuba of this too! he thinks mp3's are better! MD's cost about 2 bucks for a disc that holds 4 cd's worth of music. to get the same out of a mp3 player it would cost you around 100 bucks. so, for the same price as one 128 mb card, you could get 2,500 cd's worth of music, which in my opinion makes the price of mp3's look almost criminal. another reason that they're a better choice is that mp3's are limited only to computer connection, and mindisc you can record from CD, SACD, tape, turntables, micophone, the computer, and pretty much anything you can think of all on the fly, with no software required (though I think you need some for connecting the newest one to a comp). Juba310
OK OK.... i might think about a minidisk...but first tell me, which has better sound quality...mp3 or minidisk, or are they the same...please no biastness, tell me why one is better quality than the other....also, the only reason i want mp3 player is to hook it to my computer...so hooking it to my cd player or anyother audio piece is not what im looking for. prodj101
well, even if you don't wanna hook it up to your computer, the media is still 50 times cheaper than mp3. at least if you'r elooking at one you can change the cards with. as far as sound quality, you can very the recording quality on both of them, so it can vary, but if both are recorded on the same quality level, there won't be a difference. Femtochemistry
with all the new MD players that now have the type R and Type S reocrding, MD sound better than any MP3 player--if you are transfering from CDs, tapes etc. For example, if you transfer a 192kb track on a MP3 player and the same on a MD player, they will sound similar--but a cheap *** MP3 player might sound ****ty--man, go with a MD player that has NetMD funtion and you will never look back! I buy REALLY good blank MDs from blankmedia.com 1.54$ for the gold standard! one of the best blanks around; no kidding.

Femtochemistry
yeh, if you want to get a MD player, get a sony--no ifs' no buts.' Depending on the $$$ you want to spend--NetMD players range from 100-400. The newest puppy is the sony N10. I have the sony N1 and it kicks fricken ***! There is not a lot of difference between them. You could also try the cheaper models-505, 707, S1-- all sony! The S1 looks really good--but has a cheap feel to it I recommand the 707 or the N1. DONT get the 505 or at least not the now --the N10--really not worth paying 380 for it. Only has a few extra features than the N1--like 2mm smaller: now come on! are u really gonna notice that? heres a few links: http://minidisco.com/ AWESOME PLACE but blanks are expensive here http://www.minidisc.org/ GOOD PLACE http://www.minidiscussion.com/ http://www.mdclassifieds.com/ http://www.t-station.net/ GOOD PLACE
