zandern
OK I have a problem. Me and my fiance live together at college. Well my tv is in the living room of our apartment(share with 3 other roomates) so I took my fiance's 13" tv vcr combo to my room since we both sleep in there. Now I go to turn on the TV but it won't. The vcr is making a weird noise. Push play, stop, eject, rewind, or fast forward and the tape is stuck! Since the tape is stuck we can't even watch tv cause it automatically turns the tv off after 3 seconds. Well I want the tv to work and i have to get that tape out of there before my fiance takes it home because its a PORN tape that is stuck and her parents will be quite curious as to why the tv doesn't work. Besides that its a good movie and I don't want to damage it Anyone have any advice/experience getting tapes out of vcr's. I will be attempting to take it apart, but I am afaird I won't be able to get it out w/o it breaking. Wish me luck.
michael hurd
Ha, ha. Sorry, but that's funny. Good luck in your retrieval efforts. Why don't you try taking it to a repair shop if you can't get it out yourself ? It would at least save you some embarrasment.
m00n
LOL!!!! Oh man, that is TOOOOOO Funny! Not only save on the embarrasment, but her parents may not let you see her again Tell her to leave it when she goes home... Tell her to tell her parents that she forgot it. That should buy you some time at least.
prodj101
hahaha dude, you'll be interested to know, my aunt had the exact same problem, but not quite as bad since it wasn't pron, lol. they said it just started working suddenly. as for your suggestion moon, it won't work. than he'd have to tell her about the porn, which would prob lead to her saying something like "aren't I enough for you?" but, I guess thats better than that plus her parents. if I were you Id just take the tv and force it out if all else fails, or else blaim it on one of the other 3 roommates. justin_tx_16
Probably the belt. Happened to our 14+ year old Hitachi VCR and Sony VTR. This will cost you around $60, but go get a new one! They are super cheap! Might even look like the good guy, getting your g/f a new tv, how sweet!

First off, does she have a sister about 22 years old?? Second, If the tape case is damaged and not the tape itself then you can buy a another blank cheap tape and swap out the guts of the damaged one (Proud to say I did this once). I used to work with a guy who would not only copy rented movies but would swap the reels inside and keep the original! Of course this was before the tape screws were plugged up.
